Chapter 2 – I am really a bad person

“What’s your name?”

“Asho…Asho Heath.”

“How old are you?”

“I don’t know, I lost my memory.”

“What’s your gender?”

“Let me see…male.”

“What’s your race?”

“I’m probably not a dog?”

“What’s your past experience?”

“I really don’t know, I lost my memory.”

Bloodthirsty Hunter Amy looked through the two-way mirror and saw the heresy leader being questioned. He replied with such nonchalance, as if he had no one to fear. This made her so angry that her eyes turned into slits and her nails grew longer.

“Captain, does this villain think everyone in the hunting hall is a fool? This kind of questioning won’t work. Let me do it. When I was in school, I learned interrogation from my father during extracurricular time and even obtained a Level 1 Interrogator’s Certificate. I bet on my father’s name that I can make this bastard confess to wetting his bed when he was a child!”

“Throw away the Interrogator’s Certificate.” Jielade said calmly, “The Interrogator system was abolished twelve years ago in the Human Rights Amendment Regulations. The hunting hall is now completely prohibited from interrogating suspects. Offenders can have their hunter’s license revoked or be sentenced to over 100 years in prison. The Council is watching us closely. Even if Asho Heath can’t sleep at night, we can still get into trouble. If you want to be bitten by the Council, I won’t stop you.”

“Hmph.” Angry and timid, Amy changed the subject, “What about the memory master? He has been caught for so long, why hasn’t he come to retrieve the memories of this villain?”

“The memory master won’t come.”

“Why not? In cases like this, there must be a memory master to retrieve the memories as direct evidence, right? I remember that the Criminal Code stipulates that all criminal offenses must have memories as direct evidence, right?”

“But he’s different.”

“How is he different?”

Jielade glanced at her, “He has seen the Four Pillar God.”

Amy was slightly startled, but soon understood.

“Not only him, but all heretics cannot retrieve their memories.”

Jielade said, “Memory contamination is the Four Pillar God’s specialty. In the heresy case I participated in 134 years ago, the heretics became Four Pillar God’s followers without realizing it, because a memory master retrieved their memories. That’s why the Four Pillar God heresy keeps reviving endlessly.”

“What should we do?” Amy was dumbfounded, “We can’t get any evidence by questioning, we can’t interrogate, we can’t retrieve memories…can we let him go free? Or do we need to handle this case specially?”

“We don’t need to handle it specially.” Jielade said, “There is a death penalty that is suitable for such a heinous crime that has caused public outrage…this questioning is just a formality. The real trial will be held at 8 pm on the 15th, and it will be completed by all the citizens of the city.”

Amy suddenly understood, but when she turned to see the heresy leader still in the interrogation room, saying “I don’t know” left and right, she still couldn’t get over it. She stuck out her tongue, despised him for a moment, and walked away with her drooping gray tail.

Jielade was still watching this unproductive questioning. Because the questioning had lasted more than 15 minutes, the suspect had to take a break, which was a basic human right stipulated in the Human Rights Amendment Act.

The heresy leader was drinking water, occasionally touching his chest, which had been pierced not long ago. His eyes showed surprise, but soon turned to worry. For some reason, Jielade felt like he hadn’t lied.

His reactions, panic, curiosity, fear, confusion… really seemed like those of an ordinary person with amnesia.

According to the “Human Rights Act”, symptoms such as personality split, amnesia, and mental illness can be considered as the person lacking the ability to take care of themselves and exempt from criminal punishment.

If memory retrieval is used and it is found that Asho really has amnesia, then he can even be released without guilt.

But these things have nothing to do with him because of the Four Pillar God’s reasons. There cannot be a memory master to retrieve his memories, so…

“Judging you is the people’s business. We just need to send you to the people’s eyes.” Jielade turned and left, continuing to pursue the next suspect.

“Now I really die early to enjoy death…”

Lying on a clean and soft bed, Asho put down the information in his hand and looked at this bright, spacious, and independently guarded cell, feeling dark inside.

Although he had vaguely expected it when he saw the four “angels” revealing such ugliness before disappearing, he didn’t expect the reality to be even more serious – the hunters’ accusations against him were completely correct, he was an unbelievably true heresy leader.

The gods who gave Asho power were the most infamous Four Pillar God in this world. They had many aliases, and the most notable feature was that the Four Pillar God often appeared together, causing endless chaos in this world.

The Lord of Billion Glories, also known as the tyrant, pursues endless wars and the mountains of corpses and seas of blood that engulf the world. His followers will kill everything they see, even themselves;

The King of Wind, Snow, and Rain, also known as the Evil Advisor, is famous for manipulating mortals with conspiracies. He likes to satisfy the desires of his followers, although fulfilling their wishes will make them fall into extreme madness;

The Eternal Heart of Burning Flame, also known as the Father of Mercy, is the source of all plagues and diseases, and the final destination of rotten things. His followers will become the breeding ground for diseases, living in pain, horror, and despair, but they will not die;

The Soul of Dreaming Freedom, also known as the Prince of Indulgence, represents the endless desires of living beings. He is also the most frequently mentioned one in the information – the intelligent race is most easily tempted and corrupted by him. Once he corrupts them into his followers with desire, intelligent creatures will become instinctive animals that can never be satisfied, and their reason will be completely swallowed up by instinct.

In fact, Asho also suspected that the other party was fabricating information to deceive him, but first, he was caught, and the other party could shape him into any form they wanted, without having to go through so much trouble; second, the information was also illustrated, with Heath’s own criminal photos and detailed crime process. His brutal methods made Asho want to vomit the mushroom soup and chicken noodles he had just eaten.

If Heath is a bad person, then the Four Pillar God is a sinister god.

Then, conversely, the Bloodthirsty Hunter who pursued him is the force of justice… at least the force that maintains social stability.

In just half a day, Asho experienced great joy and sorrow – at first, he thought he was a hero who was just about to leave the beginner’s village, but he didn’t expect to be a heresy leader who just received the first wave of angel rounds to start a business.

Then he was swarmed by a group of heroes as a wild elite monster.

Not only did he cross over as a heresy leader, but he also crossed over at the time when the hunters were encircling and suppressing the heresy… so am I here to specifically send performance to the hunters?Asho tossed and turned in bed, complaining about the unfairness of fate while pondering whether he had died from overwork. All his thoughts eventually converged into one: how would they execute him?

Although the interrogation was very polite, providing free food and a luxurious single room, Asho even felt like he was on vacation, except for having to wear exquisite bracelets and anklets. However, it was clear that they would not let him go easily.

But Asho vaguely felt that the civilization of this world seemed to be very advanced, and perhaps the death penalty had been abolished, giving him a glimmer of hope…

Suddenly, a crisp notification bell rang in his mind.

“Ding dong!”

Asho felt a warmth at the back of his neck, and then a round light screen unfolded before his eyes.

His heart trembled as he tried to decipher the unfamiliar text on the screen with anticipation—

“Dear Mr. Asho Heath, prisoner number 4001623. Camon City Hall officially invites you to be a special guest on the ‘Blood Moon Judgment’ program on Channel 1 at 8 pm on the 15th of this month. Please pay attention to your appearance, and we will send someone to escort you to the live broadcast site. If you want to withdraw from the program, please reply ‘TC.’”

Although he didn’t know what “Blood Moon Judgment” was, the name didn’t sound like anything good, so Asho naturally hurried to edit ‘TC’ in the dialogue box.

However, when he tried to send the message, another prompt popped up on the screen:

“Your messaging function has been disabled during the arrest and trial phase.”

Damn it, so the last part of the message was just to tease me!?

Asho guessed that the “Blood Moon Judgment” was his death sentence, but at this point, his attention was focused on the light screen in front of him.

He touched the back of his neck, not feeling any obvious bumps, but he could clearly sense that the back of his neck was closely related to the light screen, as if the light screen settings had been implanted into his neck.

Since the “death sentence announcement” would be notified to him in this way, Asho thought it might be the communication tool of this world, not just something unique to him.

Sure enough, when he focused his thoughts on the “?” icon at the top left corner of the screen, a series of information popped up:

“Name: ‘Heath’s ‘Consciousness Light Screen’”

“Version: 14.4.1”

“Chip Model: Miracle 13”

“Current Status: Messaging function disabled, networking function disabled, channel access function disabled, photo taking function disabled, kinetic energy output limited, Virtual Realm access disabled, Artificing output disabled…”

“Main Number: 459105198”

“Service Provider: Psychic Services, Inc.”

Asho changed the name to “‘Asho’s ‘Consciousness Light Screen’” and thought that the technological system of this world was indeed advanced, with both Transcendent abilities to enhance individual combat power and such popular technological devices.

It was funny that Asho had just thought this was some kind of cheat from his transmigration, but it turned out to be a common product for everyone. It was like an ancient person traveling to the modern world, picking up a mobile phone and thinking it was a divine artifact.

Thinking of his previous delusions, Asho felt his face getting hot.

Although Asho wanted to study this new toy, most of the functions inside were disabled. Besides the calendar, messages, notepad, and calculator, there was only…

“The Sorcerer’s Manual of Orola?”

Asho was taken aback.
