Vol.1 – Chapter 061 – Identity

The two of them chatted and entered the cave.

The cave was inexplicably strange, as if it was artificially made yet naturally formed. There was a long tunnel that grew larger as they went deeper. After descending for about twenty to thirty miles, it suddenly opened up to a underground world.

There were even remnants of walls not far away, but they were corroded by time and no longer recognizable. There used to be a city here!

The air was gloomy and filled with a putrid smell, and large black clouds the size of water barrels floated in the air.

This was the Prison Ghost. According to the sect’s legends, during ancient times, a special race was cursed and exterminated here, and their lingering resentment turned them into Prison Ghosts.

The Prison Ghosts were special, neither ghosts nor spirits, just a mass of clouds and mist. But as long as someone approached, they would attach themselves like a festering sore on a bone, sucking the blood of humans. In just a few breaths, they could drain a person dry.

Only a cultivator’s true essence could resist them – or rather, it was a mutual destruction. The true essence and the Prison Ghost would both be consumed, and the consumed true essence could not be recovered, as if their cultivation level had been permanently crippled.

This space was not underground. Even if the Qingyuan Sect dug a hole from above, they wouldn’t be able to reach here even after digging two or three hundred miles. Only the entrance they had just entered could lead to this place.

This should be a special space.

The Qingyuan Sect had been established for thousands of years, and most of their major enemies were imprisoned in the Golden Tower, which absorbed their true essence and sealed the entrance.

There must be a connection between the second floor and this place. The Qingyuan Sect would excavate the dark stones daily, but the supply of dark stones never seemed to decrease. They would dig an empty mine pit, bury it for a hundred years, and the dark stones would grow again.

Ge Hong and Yu Yue didn’t dare to ride their swords. The elixirs they consumed only prevented the Prison Ghosts from actively approaching them. If they flew into the black cloud of the Prison Ghosts, the elixirs wouldn’t be able to save them.

They could only pray that they could eliminate the Prison Ghosts before their true essence was depleted.

After walking for half a day, they finally saw seven or eight fellow sect members sitting on the ground behind a hill.

The leader was the First Seat of the Enforcement Hall, Yu Housheng.

“Big brother, I’ve brought the elixirs.” Yu Yue was overjoyed, not looking like someone in their hundreds, but more like a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl.

“Nonsense!” Yu Housheng scolded, “You’re still so young, you should be more stable. You’re now the Cold Miao Zhen of the Red Moon Tower, and you’ve been imprisoned in the Suppression Prison for twenty years. How can you be so full of vitality?”

Yu Yue stuck out her tongue, and her face changed in an instant, becoming a woman in her forties. She closed her eyes and opened them again, and her gaze also changed.

It could be seen that she used to be a seductive enchantress, her eyes filled with spring. But at this moment, the spring was completely covered by madness and hatred, as if she wanted to tear this world apart.

This kind of gaze only lasted for a moment before she gave up. She stuck out her tongue again and returned to her original appearance.

“Big brother, don’t worry, nothing bad will happen. I just don’t like that expression, but it’s not that I can’t do it.” What kind of person could have such deep resentment!

“Big brother, didn’t you say that Yaya made a mistake and was confined in the Suppression Prison? I didn’t sense her presence when I went up there.” Yu Yue sat beside Yu Housheng and reached into his arms, pulling out an apple and biting into it.

Yu Housheng shook his head. “I found an excuse and released her early. If I didn’t let her go, the Suppression Prison would have been overturned by her.”

Yu Yue pouted, feeling a bit disappointed.

The Sect Leader was really unfair. Big brother had a puppet incarnation outside and could receive messages at any time, but they were stuck in this broken place for a century. They could only go to the mine cave to let off some steam when they took the elixirs, and they had to do it secretly.

“Big brother, is Yaya similar to Senior Sister Su? Is she a true fairy who has emerged from the water?” Yu Yue’s eyes were filled with longing.

As a free-spirited person, she was willing to stay in this ghostly place for sixty years just for these little ones in the sect.

Yu Housheng nodded, his face showing no signs of strangeness. “She is a very beautiful little fairy, and she is the one who brought back the Divine Beast Dragon Turtle to the sect.”

There was a gleam in Yu Yue’s eyes.

Yu Housheng lowered his head and silently ate his food.

As a senior brother, he had overcome countless obstacles and brought the Qingyuan Sect to the top position in the Dongyun Mountain Range, worthy of anyone’s respect.

But he had let down his wife and daughter.

Shaking his head to dispel the disturbing thoughts, he swallowed the food in his hand and said in a deep voice, “Change your identity and explore the ruins again to see if there are any remnants left.”

He looked around and said, “Just use the techniques and martial arts of the new identities!”

Everyone nodded, and in the blink of an eye, their appearances changed one after another. They all looked like the enemies imprisoned in the Golden Tower, and after imitating them for decades, their eyes and temperament were enough to deceive anyone.

Meanwhile, in Ancheng Shallow Beach, Su He and a large-eyed mouse stared at each other.

Under the awe-inspiring power just now, the heavily injured Water Calm couldn’t withstand a single blow, so Su He didn’t kill her. Regardless of right or wrong, she was still a pitiful woman. Since she wanted to start anew, Su He granted her wish.

Under the divine power, all the crocodiles in the swamp fainted, and a mouse under the shallow beach floated up with bubbles.

This mouse was much larger than a cat, but it didn’t look disgusting. Its golden fur was cute and adorable, resembling a water otter. But it was no ordinary rodent. As soon as it surfaced, it opened its mouth to curse, “Damn it, who’s the grandson that stunned me?”

A turtle and a rat locked eyes.

A demon!

Not a demon from the Qingyuan Sect. This generation of the Qingyuan Sect only had six demons, all of which Su He recognized, and none of them were rodents. The demons from the previous generation had already transformed and taken human form.

This was an outsider demon, and its bloodline was extraordinary. It had golden fur that remained dry even when submerged in water – something that Su He, as a Dragon Turtle with water attributes, couldn’t achieve.

Ang~

Su He hummed lowly.

Did you hear what Shui Jing just said?

The incident at the Qingyuan Sect’s Suppression Prison should be considered a sect secret, not to be leaked.

The rat shook its head hurriedly, “Woman? What woman? I didn’t see any woman…” It stopped mid-sentence, realizing that the Dragon Turtle hadn’t mentioned a woman.

Too clever for its own good, it tried to escape!

As it turned to flee, a large hand made of condensed water reached out from under the water and grabbed it.

“Gurgle…spare…gurgle…”

The large hand held its tail and lifted it in front of Su He, “Ang~”

You can run, but if you’re caught again, you’ll be killed on the spot. It’s been a while since I’ve had rat meat.

Su He licked his lips, his eyes filled with greed.

The golden rat was terrified, “Grandpa, Grandpa Turtle! This isn’t fair, I’ve become a demon, an enlightened demon, you can’t eat me!”

Su He ignored it and let out a long hum towards the crocodiles.

Repeat after me, I’m the boss here, who agrees and who disagrees?

Ang~

Those who agree, follow me. Those who disagree, be crushed on the spot.

All the crocodiles turned over, energetically following behind Su He, none of them willing to fall behind. The team moved eastward along the water in a grand manner.

Listening Sea Lake was large enough to easily accommodate hundreds of crocodiles.

If it were any other disciple doing this task, hunting would be the only option.

These hundred or so crocodiles were just ordinary crocodiles, not as good as the original crocodiles of Listening Sea Lake. Whether it was because Su He fed them well, or because the spiritual power of Listening Sea Lake was rich, after this hibernation, Su He found that three of the crocodiles were showing signs of evolving into Exotic Beasts.

This was a good thing. They didn’t dare to show off in front of Su He just because they had become stronger. It might also have something to do with the fact that Su He beat them up every time they met.

Anyway, these three crocodiles were the most active in contributing among all the crocodiles.
