Chapter 2 – Garlic Tribe

Lu Yao ran a lap in the rental house, then washed his face with cold water. After feeling awake from the cold and hot alternation, he returned to the computer desk.

On the computer screen, there was indeed garlic in the Temple of Blessings slot.

This meant that the garlic in his hand had indeed been sent into the temple through the mouse position.

"Would you like to bestow the garlic to your followers?"

Although Lu Yao didn't know what this game was all about or how it could break through dimensions, since it was already a fact, he was very curious to see what kind of interaction would occur between the real world and the game world.

Lu Yao clicked "yes."

Outside the temple, exclamation marks appeared above the heads of the small people who were worshipping around the temple.

"The god is truly divine!"

"The god has bestowed a miracle!"

"Hail the miracle and hail the god!"

"Great god, thank you for your blessing!"

"Garlic! Garlic!"

"The god's garlic! The god's gift!"

The small people knelt in prayer and then ran to tell others, their expressions turning into smiles.

Then they all got busy and together they cultivated a piece of farmland, which grew small tender shoots that slowly turned into green seedlings.

A message appeared on the screen.

"Your blessing has taught your followers how to grow and use garlic, and their faith has been increased."

Lu Yao looked to the upper right corner.

The original faith value of 7 had now become 22.

It seemed that blessings could quickly harvest faith.

Lu Yao looked around and found a pencil on the table.

For the tribe, this tool would be very useful.

But when he clicked on the page, the garlic was still in the Temple of Blessings slot. When he clicked on it, a prompt appeared.

"The garlic is merging into the world. Please be patient."

Lu Yao had no choice but to give up.

He had just started playing this game, and many of its mechanisms and gameplay were still being explored, so he could only take it one step at a time.

He ate the already cold instant noodles and kept his eyes fixed on the screen.

After about half an hour, a group of small people ran in from the screen. They were all wearing leather vests, and the leader was a small person wearing a horned helmet and holding a wooden spear.

The foreign small people held torches and surrounded the temple.

"Demon's lair! Demon's lair!"

"It must be destroyed! You demon's followers!"

"Burn it! Burn it!"

Lu Yao understood.

These were the forest tribe small people who believed that demons were worshipped in the temple. At the same time, seven exclamation marks appeared above the heads of the seven believers in the temple.

"This is the Palace of the Gods, the Temple of God Yao!"

"The gods have bestowed a miracle!"

"A garlic miracle!"

"How dare you blaspheme the gods!"

The forest tribe didn't listen to any explanations and just shouted that they wanted to burn it down. These little people held torches and were about to set fire to the temple.

Lu Yao clicked on "Miracle" and put his mouse on "Rain" in the first option.

If it rained, according to the knowledge of these civilized little people from the tribe, they would think that the gods were angry and would probably retreat.

Just as he was about to click his finger, Lu Yao suddenly had a second thought.

No.

Since he was going to do it, he might as well go all out.

Lu Yao looked at the other options.

"Miracle" from top to bottom, according to the consumption of faith from least to most, were "Rain" 10, "Lightning" 20, "Sun" 25, "Hurricane" 30, and "Earthquake" 40.

Lu Yao's gaze fell on "Lightning."

"Lightning": consumes 20 faith points, creates lightning in a designated area.

It's your turn.

Lu Yao clicked on lightning, and the mouse turned into a range icon that could be selected and dragged. He compressed the range and locked it on the head of the leader of the forest tribe.

As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility. You get hit by lightning first.

He clicked the mouse lightly.

A lightning bolt fell from the sky in the pixel world, hitting the little person with the bullhorn helmet below, blowing him and the two little people around him into ashes.

Other forest tribe little people holding torches all had exclamation marks above their heads and scattered in an instant.

Only the seven believers in the temple had angry expressions above their heads.

"Divine punishment! Divine punishment!"

"You have angered the gods!"

"Don't anger the gods! This is the fate of those who blaspheme!"

Lu Yao was very satisfied. The forest tribe should not cause trouble in the short term, unless they wanted to try the taste of electric shock again.

He relaxed and felt a little sore in his neck.

Although the game didn't require much operation, it had a strange magical power. Lu Yao played until 12:30 without realizing it.

Although he was a little reluctant, he still turned off the computer and went to bed. After all, he still had to go to work tomorrow.

Lying in bed, Lu Yao was drowsy and thought to himself.

If he could create natural disasters and continuously bestow real-world things on the people in the game world, then in the eyes of the pixel people, he was indeed no different from a god.The next day, Lu Yao left work early. Today, his boss went out to talk to clients, and the employees left quickly, so he also left early.

Back at home, he eagerly opened the "Deity Simulator".

As he clicked "Continue Game", the familiar pixelated screen slowly unfolded.

He breathed a sigh of relief, the save file wasn't corrupted.

When he noticed the scene on the screen, Lu Yao was surprised.

Next to the temple, there were now five thatched huts, each with a square field in front of them. When he moved the mouse over the fields, it showed that they were growing garlic.

The population in the top right corner had increased from 7 to 30 people, and the faith value had increased to 25 points.

Lu Yao did the calculations.

Yesterday, he used one "Lightning" and the faith value was only 2 points, but now it had increased to 25 points, a total increase of 23 points, and the population had increased by 23 people.

This proved that his previous guess was correct. Under normal circumstances, 1 new population would bring 1 point of faith.

More importantly, the game would continue to run even if it wasn't open on the computer.

At this point, there was a new prompt on the screen.

-Your followers have enough to establish a tribe, you can name it ___ tribe.

Lu Yao typed "garlic".

Following the naming conventions of ancient times, the specialty of these believers was the garlic they were given, so "Garlic Tribe" was a reasonable name.

-Your miracles and blessings have officially established the Garlic Tribe, and the Temple of Yao is known by more people in distant places.

So, it would help attract more outsiders?

Lu Yao focused his attention on the new population.

He found that the 23 new pixelated people who had joined last night were all wearing leather vests, which were completely different from the 7 barefoot locals.

They were from the Forest Tribe.

It seemed that some of the pixelated people from the Forest Tribe had joined the temple's camp and settled here.

Lu Yao was pleased.

The lightning strategy from last night had immediate results.

Whether they were afraid or worshipful, they were attracted here.

After the population increased, there was a simple division of labor. The members of the tribe were no longer limited to planting garlic and taking care of berries. Two people started hunting in the forest, and one person tried to catch fish by hand by the river.

Overall, the Garlic Tribe was still in the primitive stage, and all members were still working hard for food.

Lu Yao opened the temple interface and found that garlic was still in the "Blessing" slot.

He was slightly disappointed.

The cooldown period for blessings seemed to be long.If Lu Yao had known that he could bring things from the real world into the pixel world, he would have chosen wheat to alleviate the food shortage of the pixel people in the early stage. Or he could have sent a bow and arrow, so the little people could master archery, making hunting much easier and giving them the ability to fight back when encountering the forest tribe again.

Lu Yao's gaze moved downward, and he suddenly saw something that wasn't there before.

There was a red item in the 【Sacrifice】slot.
