Chapter 106 – Zero Armor

The ears were filled with a deafening roar, and the sound of shattering stones pierced the air.

A figure burst into the base in a shocking manner, and a voice filled with hidden anger sounded, followed by a familiar voice.

“Are you okay?”

David looked at the exhausted and weak Clark, a hint of killing intent in his eyes.

He suspected that all of this was a plan orchestrated by the military, just to capture and detain Clark.

“Clark just passed out, and the military arrived at the scene as if they had foreseen it and sealed off the area.”

“I’m okay.”

Clark shook his dizzy head with force, and a forced smile appeared on his face to show that he was okay, but it was a pale and bitter smile.

Rip!

The teeth-grinding sound of metal deformation rang out.

David tore apart the nearly solid steel ball and chain, showing no sign of effort. The shattered chains, weighing over ten tons, were thrown aside as if they were trash.

Watching through the screen, Sam Lane and Luthor’s faces shook. Another creature with powers beyond human imagination, along with the speed at which he appeared.

Is he a member of Superman’s extraterrestrial race?!

If it was understandable for one mutant to exist, the sudden appearance of two such beings beyond normal understanding inevitably led people to think about their race. Could Superman really be an alien?

At this moment, even Sam Lane had to have doubts.

“Can you walk?” Despite breaking into a heavily guarded military base, David showed no signs of urgency other than emitting a gloomy and intimidating aura, as if this was just a stroll in his backyard.

“I can manage.”

Supported by his brother, Clark staggered to his feet. Despite being extremely weak, walking was not a problem for him.

“I’ll take you out of here!”

After saying this, David prepared to lead him to break through the base and leave. Clark, who was blindfolded, hesitated and said, “If possible, brother, try not to kill anyone.”

“Truly a hero in the eyes of the people of Metropolis. Truly kind.”

David, supporting Clark’s arm, raised an eyebrow.

Clark forced a smile. He was already in a sorry state after being captured by the military today. If it weren’t for his brother coming to rescue him, and considering the sonic weapons he had just experienced and his special agent abilities, he didn’t have much confidence in escaping from this base on his own.

But considering everything, Clark didn’t want his brother to go on a killing spree. With his brother’s abilities, once he started, it would be a one-sided slaughter, and he didn’t know how many people would die.

“Don’t worry, there won’t be any bodies left in this base today.”

If it were a different situation, David would never have hesitated, but since the kind-hearted elderly couple knew he had come here, it was better not to kill too many people.

Saying this, he raised his palm, and a blast of energy erupted.

A hole the size of a person, the violent cosmic energy pierced through wall after wall, obliterating everything in its path. Over a dozen base personnel happened to be behind the wall and were vaporized, leaving no trace of their bodies.

Without any evidence of bodies, David felt that it couldn’t be considered that he had killed anyone.

If too many people “disappeared” in the end, it would undoubtedly be the military’s slander.

Believing that the military, who wanted to capture his parents’ eldest son for experiments, would not fail to believe in their own son.

Clark, who thought he had convinced his brother, just showed a smile, but his face immediately stiffened.

Within the range of his super hearing, the heartbeats of over a dozen people disappeared.

“Brother?”

“They’ve just been transported away to another world.”

Soldiers wielding guns quickly arrived, and a roaring metal torrent shot out. David raised his hand, and a purple energy blast wiped out one person after another from this world.

Listening to David’s indifferent response, Clark felt a bit frantic. Did he think he was an eight-year-old child?

“David, we should leave here quickly.” His voice was hurried.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

In the base’s surveillance footage, bullets hitting David and Clark were deflected, and soldiers were obliterated by purple lasers emitted from their eyes as they walked forward.

“At this rate, all the soldiers in my entire base will be killed by him!”

Sam Lane was shocked and furious, and he pounded the console with a heavy fist, connecting to a channel.

“Dr. Ainsborough.”

“What’s happening at the base? Is there an earthquake? Why do I hear gunfire inside the base?”

Before he could speak, on the screen, a middle-aged doctor in a white coat looked flustered. The ground in the basement where he was located was shaking, and he was the first to ask.

This base was not just an ordinary base.

Sam Lane chose to bring the unconscious Clark to this base because it was one of the military’s important top-secret research bases, with many talents and expensive research facilities under military control.

Superman was supposed to become another top-secret research project at this base, but now things had gone awry.

Somehow, someone even more troublesome than Superman had appeared.

“The base has been attacked by a terrifying life form, most likely an extraterrestrial terror race. Now we need the Prometheus Plan. Have John prepare and immediately connect the nerves to the Zero Armor, and engage in combat to subdue the opponent and recapture the experimental subject material.”

“An extraterrestrial terror race?”

Dr. Ainsborough looked bewildered, feeling like he was hearing a fairy tale.”But according to the schedule, it will take at least six more months of debugging before the Iron Warrior can be safely completed.

The general’s rash activation of the armor could result in Sergeant Corben suffering a direct brain overload and dying during the neural interface process.”

He snapped back to reality and hurriedly spoke.

“He has been training for this plan for five years.

Qualified soldiers never fear battle or death; I’ve already sent John over.”

Sam Lane commanded in an irrefutable tone.

On the base’s surveillance screen, a tank aimed and fired a shell at the two men. The massive projectile whistled through the air and was detonated mid-flight by a laser from David’s lifted finger.

He and Clark remained unscathed, while the missile exploded, scattering soldiers’ limbs and turning them into corpses.

Amidst the lingering smoke, soldiers with severe injuries lay on the ground, wailing in agony.

The armed crowd looked towards the figure who finally emerged from the base building, their bodies trembling like chaff, hearts filled with fear.

“Monster, save me.

Please save me, I don’t want to die yet!”

A soldier with a weak will shouted, wishing he had been born with an extra pair of legs as he turned to flee into the distance.

“This is not a monster that humans can defeat!”

The enemy seemed like the Grim Reaper, bringing death wherever he went. In just a short time, nearly a hundred people had died at his hands, their guns and cannons unable to even momentarily halt his advance.

Fear and despair spread through everyone’s hearts.

In the control room, Luthor raised an eyebrow after listening to the conversation between Sam Lane and the doctor.

“Iron Warrior?”

“Lex Luthor, what you just heard is top military secret. I will have you sign a confidentiality agreement shortly.

If today’s events are leaked, you will be arrested on charges of treason and leaking national secrets.”

Sam Lane swept a cold glance over him.

“General, I understand the stakes.

But this guy’s physique seems no weaker than Superman’s, and his energy release capability is clearly stronger.”

Luthor raised his hands in a mock surrender, speaking with a calm smile.

“Can your Iron Soldier’s individual combat strength match that of a heavy tank?”

On the screen, a heavy tank weighing over a hundred tons, with steel armor up to 200 millimeters thick, was just penetrated by a single strike from an energy laser cannon, turning it into molten scrap metal.

“Just wait and see.

Neither he nor Superman will get away!”

As soldiers fell one by one, rage in Sam Lane’s eyes almost materialized, his gaze fixed on the purple-glowing figure on the screen.

The Zero Armor was made entirely of the expensive and top-secret Promethium metal, the hardest metal known to the world and unknown to the outside, symbolizing the first line of defense against a potential extraterrestrial invasion.

It also bore the crucial task of preserving the seeds of human civilization under an unstoppable extraterrestrial offensive, the ultimate weapon pinned with high hopes by the White House and the military!
