"What? Where did you learn about this?"
Mera looked at David in shock as he mentioned the lost Trident below.
"I must remind you, the person who told you this may have ill intentions."
The sacred Trident that had commanded the seven seas for ages, was it really just hidden within the habitat of one of the tribes of Atlantis?
"No one told me about this."
David gazed downward, stroking his chin thoughtfully.
It was a mystery how the first king of Atlantis thought, leaving behind a trail of clues that even led to the Sahara Desert, only to end up pointing back inside Atlantis itself.
Why not just reveal the Trident's location directly? Was it not deemed mysterious enough?
"The Trench are 'evolved' Atlanteans who lost their intelligence in the process, turning into monsters, slightly more powerful than the average Atlantean.
Their reproductive capabilities have also changed.
There are at least tens of millions of the Trench in this abyssal trench below."
Mera swallowed hard, thinking that David was either completely unaware of the Trench's ferocity or he was insane.
"If you're as powerful as you claim, you don't need the Trident to defeat Orm.
I suggest you turn back and seize the throne directly."
What she really wanted to say was that if David was seeking death, he shouldn't drag her into it.
"I believed what you said earlier."
Mera regretted it deeply; she should never have responded with cold laughter to David's arrogant remarks, or she wouldn't be in this situation now.
"The Trident, I have another use for it."
David smiled, seemingly ignoring Mera's words, and manipulated the Gravity Field to dive into the seabed.
Passing through the azure waters.
Arriving above a vast trench.
The pitch-black abyss of the ocean floor, like a crack tearing through the earth, or an eye of death silently watching all who venture here.
After a brief pause, the Gravity Field enveloping them plunged rapidly downward.
The abnormal movement of the water currents disturbed the deep-sea monsters.
Nearly two meters tall, these distorted fish-men with sharp fins on their backs and elbows sliced through the water, roaring at the bottom of the sea, their eyes filled with savagery, viciously attacking the only light in the depths.
Beneath the purple glow, a horde of gruesome monsters surged from the seabed like a swarm of bees, making one's scalp tingle.
In the deep trench, David remained calm, his body emitting a purple light, like a bright purple lamp igniting at the bottom of the sea, as he manipulated gravity to control the currents.
A massive whirlpool was born around him, affecting a hundred meters.
Like a great maelstrom of the deep sea, the Trench roared and charged like wailing ghosts, chilling to the core, but were instantly silenced as they were swept into the rapidly expanding vortex.
The white whirlpool, like a ring of stars, circled the purple celestial body, creating a beautiful scene.
David descended calmly into the depths of the trench.
The Trench collided with each other in the whirlpool, like a giant meat grinder, bones breaking, muscles tearing, their blood dispersing in the sea.
More Trench were drawn in, emerging like a horde of monsters from their nest, endlessly attacking, hundreds of thousands, millions…
Like moths to a flame, they seemed determined to devour any creature that entered the trench.
The vortex, overwhelmed with too many Trench, lost some of its ferocity, allowing some Trench to break through and collide with his Gravity Field, only to be repelled.
Mera's heart raced as she stared wide-eyed at the countless Trench outside, feeling as if she could be torn to shreds at any moment.
David clicked his tongue with a hint of regret.
"What a pity, these Trench can no longer be called human."
Just by entering the trench, the Trench attacked him like a nest disturbed, yet not a single emotion registered.
More and more Trench assaulted the shield.
David began to accelerate, diving quickly to the bottom of the trench,
He wasn't worried about the Trench posing a threat to him.
With the ability to manipulate energy, he was like a perpetual motion machine, and his Transcendent body was not afraid of these creatures' attacks.
In fact, David was confident he could annihilate all the millions of Trench living in this great trench.
"It would just take some time, but it's unnecessary."
There was no benefit in doing so, and a formidable enemy awaited him below, the sea monster Carlsen guarding the sacred Trident of Neptune.
A creature two kilometers long with a mountainous physique, a Transcendent being with the strength to shatter peaks!
"I don't have Aquaman's ability to communicate with sea creatures, so I have to force my way through."
David's eyes shifted as he manipulated the Gravity Field shield, driving it downward at supersonic speed with an unstoppable force, smashing all flesh and blood creatures in its path.
Millions of Trench surrounded him, but he carved a bloody and deadly path through them.
Mera's shock was uncontrollable.
These monsters all had bodies strong enough to withstand the deep-sea pressure, yet they burst like blood-red bubbles before this man.
"Could this land-dweller really possess strength surpassing Orm's?"
After just a few seconds.
David couldn't tell how many Trench he had killed, but he finally reached the bottom of the trench.
A mysterious and profound blue light at the bottom of the trench took the form of a swirling vortex.
"What… what is that?"
Mera exclaimed in surprise: "I can feel a powerful magical force from above."
"You understand magic?"
David raised an eyebrow.
"Land-dweller, in ancient times, the level of advancement of our Atlanteans was beyond your imagination.
When other land-dwellers still didn't know the earth was round, we had already mastered infinite energy technology, we explored the world, there were few secrets we didn't know.
Magic was among them."
Mera looked back; the Trench seemed to fear the power here and dared not approach. She breathed a sigh of relief and regained some composure.
"About that, I know more than you do."
David wasn't surprised that Atlantis, a high-tech civilization, suddenly had magic.
In the DC universe, there are many different versions of Atlantis's origins. Some say it was an extraterrestrial race that arrived on Earth, found Atlantis, which was already inhabited by another extraterrestrial race, and the two races built Atlantis together, but later a civil war broke out.
Some say it was the earth-born humans, because the land of Atlantis itself contained mysterious magical power, and it was the first to develop into a magical civilization…
There are also claims that the magic of Atlantis comes from the Rock of Eternity.
"Anyway, it's not strange for Atlantis to have magic; many versions of its origins involve magic."
"I'm surprised because you don't seem like someone who understands magic."
He continued speaking.
Mera had only shown a talent for manipulating water, not any magic.
"It's dangerous there; we don't know what the outcome will be if we enter."
Mera was apprehensive but dared not say anything, looking at the magical power vortex with unease, sensing that David intended to enter.
"The result is another small world."
David's expression was calm, clear about the answer to the mystery.
"There lies the sacred Trident and a sea monster as large as a mountain."
