Chapter 108 – Don’t jump to conclusions

“The battle armor is very powerful, but it seems to be no match for that life form,” Luthor said as he watched the battle on the screen.

Inside the base, the air tore apart. Although David and the Zero Armor were not much different, it was clear that they were slightly weaker. David only launched a simple attack, and the battle armor seemed to be struggling to withstand it, retreating step by step.

“The abilities of the Steel Soldier are not limited to this,” Sam Lane said with a grim expression.

Things were not going as he had expected, and General Sam Lane’s face darkened. According to the assessment, capturing Superman was not a problem for the Steel Soldier. If it weren’t for the need for a safe and secure neural interface experiment that would take at least half a year, Luthor would not need to be involved.

“This guy seems to have a stronger physique than Superman, but the result will not change.”

If the two of them were of the same alien race, this person should be a more mature individual. Not only did he have abilities that Superman, who had a youthful appearance, did not have, but he also had a stronger physique than Superman.

“The flesh and blood body is impossible to resist the Steel Soldier!” A guess flashed through his mind, and he said with strong confidence.

“Even if he can gain the upper hand for a while, it’s only because John is not familiar with the Zero Armor.”

The flesh and blood body would become tired and injured, but the Zero Armor was different. Up to now, the purple light man had not caused any harm to the Zero Armor.

When John became familiar with operating it and gradually unleashed the full power of the Zero Armor, both of these life forms, suspected to be of an alien race, would be captured.

“I hope so.”

Facing the indisputable General Sam Lane, Luthor frowned.

“I don’t want to invest so much and end up with nothing.”

“Go, capture him.”

The soldiers thought that Clark was getting up from the ground, unable to stand steadily and without strength, when in fact he was just not used to his weakened body.

Bang!

A rifle butt slammed hard against Clark’s neck, trying to knock him down.

Clark retaliated with a backhand, and the fierce soldiers flew several meters like weightless balloons, dizzy and disoriented. Several people rushed up with specially made handcuffs, but were easily knocked to the ground.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

“Fire!”

Seeing that Clark still had the strength to resist, the soldiers quickly raised their rifles and pulled the triggers.

A series of deafening gunshots followed, and the sharp-tipped bullets pierced the air, emitting a whistling sound, tearing Clark’s clothes to shreds.

Clark’s body was unharmed, and he roared in anger, charging forward and knocking down the soldiers with his bare hands.

Some people could resist bullets with their flesh and blood bodies, which was enough to shock the world. But compared to the intense battle between David and the Zero Armor, Clark’s side seemed like a child’s fight.

Every collision of fists and feet caused shockwaves that spread for dozens of meters.

The various functions of the Zero Armor were absolutely off the charts, beyond human cognition. However, when facing David, the terrifying kinetic energy of each fierce attack was easily absorbed by him.

John Coburn’s fists felt like they were hitting the bottomless sea, extremely uncomfortable. He controlled the Zero Armor through neural manipulation, and the armor was an extension of his body, but it also required time to become familiar with it.

“Are you playing with me, alien freak!”

John Coburn was sure that as he became more adept at controlling the armor during the battle, the armor’s capabilities would become stronger. However, this guy somehow managed to increase the strength of his punches and kicks.

Even though his strength had doubled since the start of the battle, he was still at a disadvantage.

His voice was filled with anger, and his fists were like a storm, but they were still being taken in stride.

What drove him crazy the most was that David didn’t pay much attention to him at all during the battle. He only occasionally glanced at the Zero Armor he was wearing, as if only this powerful battle armor was worth his attention, and as for him, the one driving the armor, he was not worth mentioning and not qualified to talk to him.

“The Zero Armor is not equipped with any long-range weapons. Besides being a prototype, the main weapons that can match the power of the armor’s fists are beyond human technology, except for nuclear weapons.”

In the basement, Dr. Ains looked at the battle on the screen with great horror.

He thought that the most difficult step was undoubtedly John Coburn’s neural interface with the armor. As long as it was successful, the attack of the extraterrestrial being would no longer be a problem.

But the fists that tore through the air and collapsed skyscrapers were like soft attacks in front of the opponent, and they couldn’t even make the opponent take a step back.

“If we can’t take him down with this, how can we deal with him? Drop a nuclear bomb regardless?”

The scene before him was simply illustrating that all conventional weapons of humanity were meaningless against this person who was suspected to be an extraterrestrial being. He could easily wreak havoc in major human cities.

Even if there were just a few more of these powerful beings from another planet, conquering this planet would be as easy as playing a game.

Dr. Ains couldn’t help but pray that the powerful and terrifying figure was not an extraterrestrial being.

“If it were Diana who had not tapped into her bloodline power, if she did not have the Fire God’s sword, she would also be in a fierce battle against this battle armor.”

David’s eyebrows were filled with surprise. The kinetic energy explosion, comparable to a thousand tons of TNT exploding, caused the silver-gray battle armor to retreat, plowing two deep trenches over ten meters long in the hard concrete ground.

The thrusters emitted flames, and John Coburn immediately launched another fierce attack, flying towards him like a fearless warrior, tearing the earth with his steel fists.

Buzz!

Two purple energy rays pierced the sky and shot towards him.

“It’s useless, your energy can’t cause any harm to me!”

John Coburn shouted, controlling the armor to ignore the fierce and terrifying energy, and forcefully withstood the powerful impact in front of him, attacking David with a punch.

David received his attack without any change in his expression, and the earth-shattering power once again easily sent him flying.

John Coburn, wearing the Zero Armor, even had the strength to conquer a small country on his own, but in front of David, who had slightly revealed his true strength, he seemed so weak and helpless, like an insect trying to stop a car, unable to resist his attacks.

In mid-air, the purple energy residue on the surface of the battle armor was absorbed and disappeared like water being absorbed by a sponge.David’s eyes caught a familiar scene once again, confirming that the armor was indeed made of Promethium. Unsurprised, a hint of interest flickered in his gaze.

“Promethium, also known as Pm, was invented by one of the richest men in the DC world, Steve Dayton. It’s an alloy created from a mysterious blend of titanium and vanadium, nearly indestructible.

One of the Justice League members, Cyborg, has parts of his body made from Promethium.”

Engaging in combat with John Corben, who charged at him like a tireless fighting dog, David swung his fists, completely overpowering him.

If it were just hard metal, it wouldn’t be worth his attention.

David didn’t need any weapons to enhance his combat power; his formidable physique and abilities were his strongest weapons.

Boom!

His fist, made of flesh and blood, crashed down like a mountain falling from the sky, shattering the ground within a radius of several meters. John Corben was almost pounded into the earth, kneeling on one knee, his teeth chattering as he struggled to hold back.

He looked at the mysterious face hidden in the purple light, his expression ugly as he roared like a wild beast.

“This armor was created to eliminate all extraterrestrial threats to Earth, and I am the ultimate weapon against your kind!”

Why couldn’t he, clad in the strongest alloy forged armor, containing the pinnacle of human technology, defeat a man without any protective gear or weapons?

“If I can’t defeat you, what’s the point of enduring five years of hellish training to wear this priceless, expensive armor?”

Pushing away the fists, John Corben shouted angrily as he leaped out, his body like a cannonball, headfirst breaking through the air towards David’s chest.

“Extraterrestrial monster, your goals will never be achieved.”

“Don’t jump to conclusions.

Assigning an extraterrestrial identity to others as if you’re seriously guarding against some conspiracy.”

David felt this man might have some mental issues. He extended a hand to absorb all the kinetic energy of his mountain-collapsing attack, slamming him hard into the ground. John Corben roared in frustration, trying to rise again.

Bang!

“Do you have a persecution complex?”

A fist, like a meteor falling from the sky, thundered down, striking his head and sending him back to the bottom of the pit.

“Have you forgotten who caused all of this?!”
