Chapter 99 – There is also the Atlantis tribe

Diana sat quietly in a white Roman-style dress, with an ancient golden harp standing on her knees, she seemed like a nymph serving the gods of Olympus.

Her slender fingers plucked the harp strings, and the melodious sound echoed in the hall like the flowing river.

In the palace, David sat comfortably on the throne, closing his eyes and tapping his fingers to the rhythm.

“You seem very happy today?”

Looking at David, she continued to play the harp, her voice hesitant.

During this time, David’s life as the Amazon king was far from enjoyable, and in her eyes, it was monotonous. Watching the Amazons dance every day, and starting to play the harp a few days ago, did not bring her any joy.

Especially today, there was nothing special, so why was she in such a good mood?

“The template has been integrated 95%…”

“Is that not allowed?” David asked without opening his eyes.

Of course, he had a reason to be happy, but he wouldn’t tell Diana.

The integration of the Black Emperor template had exceeded 90%, so if he were to fight Ares now, he wouldn’t need to exert much effort.

He no longer needed to accumulate enough divine power to fight him for a long time, and could quickly kill the son of the heavenly father.

“What will the next template be? This trip to Paradise Island was not in vain.”

David smiled lightly, lost in thought.

Of course, the most important thing was that he made the right decision to conquer the Amazon tribe. With the constant supply of emotional points from the Amazons, the speed of his template integration was like switching from a bicycle to a motorcycle, speeding up all the way.

“Remember, there is another transcendent race on this planet with an even longer history and a larger population.”

David squinted his eyes.

Diana, as the daughter of the heavenly father, excelled in various aspects far beyond ordinary people. In less than a month, she had mastered the dance to the point where even the most picky dancer could not find any faults.

So David had her start learning to play the harp, while also watching these Amazons dance day after day, which was almost a boring torture for those who had no talent other than fighting.

Diana played the harp, looking at the figure on the throne with a complex expression.

After returning to Paradise Island, she couldn’t help but ask her mother about the past, why Ares had known about her, why he called her the weapon left by Zeus to deal with him, and why her mother had never told her that she was Zeus’s daughter.

Hippolyta had to tell her the hidden truth that she had kept for many years. At that time, the gods were killed by Ares, and she had to leave this world, leaving behind Diana who was still in her womb.

Zeus arranged for Diana to be the one to kill Ares, giving her a series of divine artifacts that no other offspring had.

But Hippolyta did not believe that her daughter could defeat Ares, who had slaughtered the gods of Mount Olympus.

“My daughter, even as the daughter of the heavenly father, Ares is the offspring of the king of the gods and the queen of the gods, and he possesses one of the strongest divine positions.”

Hippolyta’s face was filled with bitterness as she mentioned this.

So for many years, she had not told her daughter about this, and if David had not come, she might have waited until Ares found Paradise Island and had no choice but to tell her.

“Thank you.”

Playing the harp, Diana moved her mouth and suddenly spoke softly.

David was puzzled by this sudden statement and asked, “Thank me for what?”

“For killing Ares, so that he can no longer cause war and harm others in the world. It should have been my mission.”

She looked into the distance, recalling the battle with Ares.

Diana had always aspired to be fearless like the heroes of Greek mythology, but she did not disrespect death. She later realized that the outcome of David’s battle might have been the same even without the demon from hell.

Even without David, she would most likely not have been a match for Ares after being deceived and losing the weapon to kill the god.

“Do not underestimate your potential. Even without me, perhaps you could have killed Ares.”

David said casually.

There was still untapped potential in Diana’s bloodline, and as the offspring of Zeus, she should not only have a powerful body.

Although in the original plot, Diana was supposed to unleash her divine power and kill Ares, now that the pilot who died in front of her was nowhere to be found.

“The people of Atlantis…”

Diana shook her head gently, not agreeing with this point, while David silently thought to himself.

There was no rush for now, as Atlantis was at the bottom of the sea and couldn’t escape anyway. It had been almost a month since he left home, and it was time to go back and see how his parents were doing, and whether Clark, the journalist’s assistant, was still doing well.

Of course, he was also curious about one other thing: whether Clark had met Louise Wayne and sparked a little romance.

After all, it was well known that Kryptonians were almost always paired with Louise Lane in any world.

“Then it’s settled. To celebrate our successful deal, how about going to the Blue River Restaurant for a drink with me?”

An elderly man with white hair pulled his tie satisfactorily and said to the merchant who had just completed a large order with him.

The small Mediterranean merchant couldn’t stop sweating and turned pale, looking at the several men in the room who looked more like gangster hitmen than bodyguards.

He couldn’t wait to leave, not wanting to stay for another moment in the presence of the man who was seen as a philanthropist in the outside world and was awarded the title of Mr. Metropolis by the government. He wanted to escape this oppressive room immediately.

The gazes of these men made him feel like a rabbit about to be torn apart by a wild beast at any moment.

“This is my invitation.”

The smile on the man’s face faded slightly as he spoke, and even though he was in a good mood, someone dared to disrespect him, even though this person had just brought him a business deal worth tens of millions of dollars.

The faces of the men who looked like thugs were cold, and they took a step forward. The diminutive man’s body shook like a sieve, terrified and at a loss.

Suddenly!

A towering figure leaped from the floor above, breaking through the window with the shattering glass, carrying an unstoppable momentum as he burst into the room.

“Who are you?

Damn it, this is the twenty-ninth floor!”

Glass shards flew everywhere, and the roomful of bodyguards couldn’t help but panic, recalling the person reported by the Daily Planet.

“Superman, is it Superman?

Could the news from the Daily Planet be true?”

The red cape, the blue T-shirt, the S emblem on the chest… Eyes shifted, revealing a hint of fear.

The legendary Metropolis vigilante, faster than a train, able to leap higher than birds, and whose body could withstand bullets.

“Superman?”

Hearing the crowd’s exclamations, a strange flicker crossed Clark’s face.

He knew this was the nickname given to him by Louise Lane, the assertive female reporter he had yet to meet in his true identity.

Yet, his other identity had already intersected with hers, which gave him an odd sense of amusement.

Apologies for the delay in today’s update due to some inexplicably messy business. I’ll see if I’m up to it later, to see if I can finish writing Chapter Two and post it between two and three in the morning. If I’m too sleepy and it’s not feasible, I’ll have to wait until tomorrow afternoon or evening. Sorry.
