Chapter 57 – What fear, who do you think you are?

Qiu Rong finished speaking and couldn’t be bothered to look at Qiu Shaoze again, turning around and walking out.

Qiu Shaoze finally realized that his old man wasn’t lying, and he felt a sense of panic.

He knew Qiu Rong’s temperament very well. Not only could he bend and stretch, but he also couldn’t tolerate any opposition. For the sake of the family’s interests, Qiu Rong could sacrifice anyone, including his own son.

Qiu Shaoze chased after Qiu Rong, “Dad, there must be some misunderstanding. I don’t even know Miss Si, how could I offend her? Someone must be setting me up…”

Qiu Rong glanced back at him, “Take care of yourself.”

With that, Qiu Rong left without looking back.

Qiu Shaoze called out, “Dad! Dad! Dad…” but there was no trace of his father’s love.

Qiu Shaoze couldn’t sit still and quickly got up, put on his clothes, and didn’t even care about the woman in the room, heading out with the car keys in hand.

He had to figure out what was going on, or with Qiu Rong’s temperament, Qiu Shaoze was afraid he would be removed from the family tree.

At this time, He Ju followed Zhang Da to a bar called “A Pot of Wine.”

He Ju sat there watching Zhang Da drink one glass after another. At this moment, He Ju didn’t stop him, as long as Zhang Da didn’t die, it was fine.

Zhang Da couldn’t help but shed tears as he drank. Seeing this, He Ju wiped away the tears and patted Zhang Da on the shoulder, “It’s only been three years, but I feel like I’m being tortured to death…”

Three years, over a thousand days and nights. It wasn’t a long time, but it definitely wasn’t short.

He Ju didn’t say anything.

Suddenly, Zhang Da asked him, “Brother, weren’t you in pain for ten years?”

He Ju smiled and casually replied, “I used to think I couldn’t live without her, but look at me now, I’m doing just fine, aren’t I?”

Zhang Da laughed, his eyes red.

Who doesn’t understand the reasoning? But…

Suddenly, Zhang Da’s eyes cleared, and he staggered to his feet.

He Ju instinctively followed Zhang Da’s gaze and saw Li Xilan walking in with a man, holding hands and wearing a very short skirt.

He Ju felt something was wrong. Wasn’t this Zhang Da’s ex-girlfriend? How could she move on so quickly after the breakup?

Li Xilan seemed to have noticed Zhang Da behind He Ju, and the smile on her face instantly disappeared. She said something to the man, and they both looked over here before turning and leaving.

Zhang Da went crazy, “Li Xilan! Li Xilan!!!”

If Zhang Da hadn’t called out, Li Xilan would have left even faster.

He Ju grabbed Zhang Da, who was about to fall, “Don’t go, it’s pointless.”

Zhang Da shook off He Ju’s hand and ran out of the bar.

Worried about him, He Ju quickly paid and followed.

He Ju sighed. This world is really ridiculous. Good women can’t find good men, and good men can’t find good women.

Is this what they call a heartless and fickle world?

As He Ju stepped out, he saw Zhang Da drunkenly grabbing Li Xilan’s wrist and asking her, “Are you seamless or did you already betray me?”

Li Xilan’s face turned ugly, and she impatiently pushed Zhang Da, almost knocking him down. She said, “Enough, it’s over between us. Do you understand the point of all this?”

He Ju pushed the man away and stood his ground, causing Lin Jun to almost lose his balance.

Lin Jun was stunned, and when he regained his balance, he was angry, “Who are you? What’s it to you?”

He Ju couldn’t help but frown slightly, his eyes sharpening for a moment.

Just as the situation was about to escalate, Li Xilan stepped in between Lin Jun and He Ju, “Enough, this has nothing to do with you two. What are you arguing about?”

After speaking, Li Xilan’s gaze shifted past He Ju to look at Zhang Da.

Zhang Da stared at her with red eyes, and Li Xilan said, “Seamless connection. When I was with you, I didn’t like you, but I didn’t get involved with anyone else. I just met him yesterday, and we hit it off.”

After speaking, Li Xilan looked away, unable to look at Zhang Da’s face.

Zhang Da laughed and couldn’t help but give Li Xilan a thumbs up, “Li Xilan, you’re amazing. Do I need to respect your honesty?”

Li Xilan clearly didn’t want to continue dealing with Zhang Da, so she pulled Lin Jun and prepared to leave.

Zhang Da, with red eyes, subconsciously wanted to question her, but He Ju held him back, “That’s enough, brother.”

Li Xilan and Lin Jun walked further and further away, quickly disappearing from their sight.

Zhang Da sneered and kicked over a nearby trash can, “Damn love! It’s a damn joke! Women are all the same!”

He Ju was silent for two seconds, silently refuting in his heart: Si Hua is different.

Just as He Ju was about to help Zhang Da home, he encountered an unexpected visitor.

When He Ju saw Su Ran, he couldn’t help but frown instinctively. He didn’t want to have anything to do with Su Ran now, and he didn’t want to know how Su Ran ended up here. Besides, he had already promised to get along well with Si Hua, so he just took Zhang Da and changed direction.

Who knew…

Su Ran quickly stepped forward and blocked his way, forcing He Ju to stop and look at her. Her tone was not good, “Move.”

Su Ran’s expression instantly turned aggrieved, “Brother He Ju, I want to talk to you…”

He Ju replied, “There’s nothing for us to talk about.”He Ju tried to support the groggy Zhang Da as they walked, but Su Ran grabbed his arm again. “Brother He Ju, can you listen to my explanation? The Qiu family has fallen, Qiu Shaoze won’t be a threat to you anymore…”

He Ju wanted to laugh as he listened, shaking off Su Ran’s hand. “Do you think I would be afraid of his threats?”

Su Ran wanted to say more, but He Ju’s expression darkened. “Su Ran, we each have our own paths to follow. Can’t you just stop bothering me?”

Dragging Zhang Da away, He Ju wished he had a pair of wind-fire wheels under his feet to get as far away from this woman as possible.

Su Ran stomped her feet in anger. She had finally gotten news of He Ju and had sneaked out behind her mother’s back to find him, but He Ju’s attitude was so hostile?

No, it wasn’t just hostility. He Ju’s attitude towards her had been getting worse by the day. At first, he was indifferent but spoke gently, but now…

It wasn’t just indifference anymore. In He Ju’s eyes, she could even see impatience and disgust.

Su Ran: “He Ju, aren’t you afraid that I’ll marry someone else and never bother with you again?”

Was she still threatening him now?

Did Su Ran really think that he, He Ju, couldn’t live without her?

He Ju laughed: “Marry whoever the hell you want, it’s none of my damn business!”

Su Ran cried out of anger, her words unfiltered in her rage: “He Ju, who do you think you are?! I, the young lady of the Su family, have put aside my dignity to come find you time and again. I’ve already given you face. Can’t you appreciate what you’ve got?!”

He Ju couldn’t be bothered with this crazy woman. Without even a glance, he dumped the drunken Zhang Da into a taxi, got in himself, and then drove off into the distance.
