Chapter 26 – I didn’t mean to take advantage of you

The call ended, He Ju stood still, looking at his phone, feeling a little dazed, then gave a bitter smile.

He didn’t dare to think about it anymore.

He and Su Ran had long been over.

He Ju had long stopped liking Su Ran.

He Ju composed himself and sent a message to Su Zhen: Uncle, thank you for talking to me, but Su Ran and I are over. I hope we can go our separate ways from now on and live our own lives. I’m sorry, Uncle.

When Su Zhen saw this message, he could only feel regret.

A man understands another man the best.

When He Ju said this, it meant he had made up his mind.

Su Ran and He Ju, it was probably too late for them.

He Ju returned to the teahouse, and Si Hua was there, studying He Ju’s camera with curiosity, like a curious baby. A ray of sunlight shone through the window and reflected on Si Hua’s hair, making her look extraordinarily beautiful.

Seeing Si Hua, He Ju’s mood improved significantly, and he walked over and sat down.

There were already peeled fruits and hot tea arranged in front of He Ju, and the tea was steaming.

Si Hua looked up and smiled at him, “How about it, He Ju, the great photographer, take a picture of me?”

He Ju’s heart calmed down, and he readily agreed, “Sure.”

He Ju had practiced specifically to please Su Ran, and this SLR camera was bought with money he had saved for a long time. Before, his camera only had various angles of Su Ran, but now…

His camera was no longer Su Ran’s exclusive.

He Ju: “Come on, Sister Si Hua, turn to the side, stand tall, and smile~”

Si Hua obediently followed his instructions, presenting her well-proportioned figure and delicate face clearly in front of the camera.

Su Ran was pure beauty, while Si Hua was enchanting beauty.

He Ju used to like Su Ran, but now he felt that Si Hua also had her own unique charm.

They spent the whole day taking pictures, just like an ordinary couple, eating, sightseeing, and then returning to the hotel.

He Ju enjoyed this kind of companionship, and Si Hua seemed to understand him very well, which also surprised He Ju to some extent.

After a few days of strolling in Dali, He Ju and Si Hua drove to Lijiang.

They arrived at night, found two random homestays to stay in, and then went out to explore the streets.

The night scenery in Lijiang was extraordinary, with bright lights and a bustling atmosphere. The colorful and lively ancient streets were filled with tourists, presenting a scene of prosperity.

Si Hua seemed to love this kind of place, and she was excited all the way, enjoying the snacks from the roadside stalls and swaying her head cutely when she found something delicious.

He Ju didn’t even realize that over the past few days, he had been looking at Si Hua more and more.

While He Ju was lost in thought, Si Hua discovered something new and turned to wave at He Ju, “He Ju, come over here.”

He Ju smiled and hurried over, “What’s up?”

Si Hua picked up a pair of shoes, squatted down to compare them with He Ju’s feet. Before He Ju could say anything, Si Hua stood up again and said, “Boss, find me a pair of size 45 shoes.”

He Ju was genuinely surprised. How did Si Hua know his shoe size?

The boss agreed.

These were a pair of sports shoes, and He Ju couldn’t tell the brand, but he didn’t mind at all. In fact, he quite liked them.

Si Hua: “How much is it, boss?”

Boss: “Not much, 350.”

He Ju was about to pay, but Si Hua quickly pressed his hand.

At the same time, Si Hua shook her head and held up three fingers, “260! Deal or not?”

Boss: “Young lady, this is already a good deal, no more bargaining.”

Si Hua decisively pulled He Ju away, “Let’s go!”

Boss: “Hey! Come back! I’ll give it to you! Nowadays, young ladies are so good at bargaining.”

Si Hua stopped and looked up, winking mischievously at He Ju, as if to say, “See, I’m amazing, right?”

He Ju couldn’t help but smile. He was genuinely happy.

He Ju wanted to pay, but Si Hua was one step ahead of him.

He Ju didn’t say anything and decided to take Si Hua to buy something else later.

He Ju was curious, though, “Sister Si Hua, why did you ask for 260?”

Si Hua answered seriously, “Because 250 has a bad meaning, and 240 is not good either. 260 sounds more comfortable.”

He Ju was astonished, “Is there really such a saying?”

Si Hua linked her arm with He Ju’s, “Yes.”

He Ju: “I’ve never heard of it.”

Si Hua: “Well, now you have.”

The two of them strolled through several streets, and the pace here was slow, making He Ju and Si Hua feel very comfortable.

He Ju truly realized that life was not just about the basics but also about poetry and distant places.

In such a beautiful place, even if he did nothing but take pictures and go for walks, He Ju would feel relaxed and content. They strolled along the stone-paved street, and with each step, the distance between their hearts seemed to shrink a little more.

He Ju didn’t know how he and Si Hua had ended up traveling and shopping together, but by the time he realized it, they had been inseparable for the past few days, except for when they slept.

As the night deepened, He Ju and Si Hua were on their way back to the inn, and the number of tourists had dwindled.

Just as He Ju was about to say something, Si Hua was suddenly bumped by a woman who brushed past her, causing Si Hua to stagger backward.

He Ju, frightened, quickly reached out to catch Si Hua.

After the woman apologized and left, He Ju didn’t even have time to concern himself with her because he had moved so quickly, wrapping his arms around Si Hua’s back…

And then his hand slipped through to Si Hua’s back, accidentally pressing on that… very soft… area…

Si Hua’s face instantly turned crimson, and she didn’t dare to move, her eyes darting around.

He Ju also didn’t dare to move, unsure whether to pull away or to hold on…

It wasn’t until Si Hua called out with a flushed face, “He Ju…”

That He Ju suddenly came back to his senses, instinctively letting go and turning around: “I’m sorry!”

What followed was a “bang—” and Si Hua’s scream: “Ah—”

He Ju’s face turned pale in an instant, and when he turned around, he saw Si Hua lying on the ground in a sorry state, clutching her waist and moaning in pain.

He Ju hurried over to help Si Hua: “Sister Si Hua, I’m so sorry, I wasn’t paying attention… I didn’t mean to take advantage of you…”

Si Hua was utterly speechless, in so much pain…

He had just been holding her, couldn’t he have helped her stand up straight before letting go?!

Fortunately, Si Hua had trained in dance, so her body was flexible and her core strength was okay; otherwise, that fall could have broken her waist.

But this was the trouble He Ju had caused, wasn’t it?

Si Hua groaned: “No, no, I’ve hurt my back…”

He Ju was extremely anxious: “Should I take you to the hospital?”

Si Hua shook her head: “Just carry me on your back…”

He Ju immediately nodded, turned around, and squatted down: “Okay, come on.”

The pained expression on Si Hua’s face disappeared in an instant, and she hopped onto He Ju’s back, laughing joyously: “Charge! Let’s go home!!! Hahaha…”

He Ju finally realized…

It turned out Si Hua was fine, she had been tricking him?
