He Ju came to his senses the moment his gaze met with Bai Shang’s, instinctively throwing off the covers and getting out of bed.
Only then did He Ju realize he was wearing nothing but his underwear. He quickly grabbed a towel from nearby and wrapped it around his waist before turning to look at Bai Shang on the bed.
She seemed in no hurry, casually draping the blanket over her key parts, leaving her fragrant shoulders and long legs bare for He Ju to see.
He Ju’s gaze grew colder by the second. If he still didn’t understand what had happened, he’d be a fool.
Bai Shang lay on the bed, smiling like a fox: “Little brother He Ju, what’s wrong? Turning your back on me so soon?”
That single sentence sent He Ju charging over, grabbing Bai Shang’s delicate neck with one hand and pinning her down on the pillow. Applying pressure, he loomed over her and said, “Bai Shang, you’ve truly opened my eyes!”
Even under He Ju’s control, Bai Shang showed no fear, her eyes brimming with laughter: “After all we’ve shared, how can you be so heartless?”
He Ju was so angry his forehead veins bulged. If not for the last shred of reason, he might have strangled Bai Shang.
Eventually, He Ju let her go, stood up, and turned his back to Bai Shang to get dressed: “You’ve orchestrated all this for a reason, right? Speak, what are your terms?”
Bai Shang also got up, a faint ring of finger marks visible on her neck, evidence of He Ju’s heavy hand, making her cough repeatedly, tears swirling in her eyes.
She had anticipated the consequences of her actions.
Si Hua was such a noble person; how could she remain unaffected by these marks?
Bai Yao and Si Mei doted on their daughter without limits. Would they allow their son-in-law and niece to engage in such acts under their own roof?
Bai Shang was confident she held the winning hand.
So, she boldly stated her demand: “I don’t ask for much, just the position of Executive Director at Starshine Company.”
The Bai family owned countless businesses, with many reputable enterprises in China, but Starshine occupied the wealthiest city’s prime location, its projects and assets among the nation’s elite.
She didn’t want anything else; with Starshine, she and her parents wouldn’t have to worry about power anymore.
She admitted He Ju was very tempting, but compared to Starshine, he was insignificant.
If He Ju wanted to be with Si Hua, he couldn’t be tainted.
He Ju paused while fastening his buttons and asked her, “What if I don’t agree?”
Bai Shang, now dressed, replied, “If you don’t agree, then I’m just unlucky to have slept with you once.”
He Ju laughed: “We’re both adults. Whether we slept together or not, don’t I know?”
Bai Shang looked back at him with a smile: “Whether you know or not isn’t important. What matters is your wife’s opinion.”
At those words, He Ju’s smile gradually faded.
He Ju: “If Si Hua’s feelings for me change because of this, then I’m sorry, Miss Bai, but you and I will be irreconcilable!”
No sooner had He Ju finished speaking than Bai Shang’s smile vanished.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
“Son-in-law, please come out. Everyone is waiting for you in the living room.”
He Ju turned to leave, but as soon as he stepped out the door, Bai Qifeng’s fist smashed hard into his nose. Already unsteady from the drugs, He Ju lost his balance and fell to the ground.
Bai Qifeng: “Bastard! You scum! Call the police! Call them now! You touched my sister! I want you dead!”
Already a victim of unwarranted misfortune, He Ju’s anger surged as he quickly got up and kicked Bai Qifeng in the stomach, sending him flying two meters away.
Red-eyed with rage, He Ju pounced on Bai Qifeng and pummeled him: “It’s your own sister who’s despicable, throwing herself at any man she sees. You don’t apologize, and you dare to hit me?”
Hearing this, Bai Qifeng was equally enraged. In his eyes, although Bai Shang was playful, she would never be as indecent as He Ju described. The two men exchanged blows relentlessly!
It wasn’t until Bai Yao and Bai Xu, hearing the commotion from the living room, came to separate them that they avoided being sent to the hospital.
Bai Shang then emerged from the bedroom, crying.
With the exception of Si Hua, nearly everyone had gathered in the living room.
He Ju found it hard to defend himself, with love bites on his neck and Bai Shang bearing choke marks. Everyone would think it was just a kinky encounter rather than He Ju having been rough with Bai Shang.
Both He Ju and Bai Qifeng looked worse for wear, He Ju’s nose turning blue and his hair a mess.
But Bai Qifeng was in even worse shape, able to open only one eye and clutching his abdomen with a hateful glare at He Ju.
Bai Yao and Si Mei’s expressions were grim, and Bai Xu looked at He Ju as if he were a criminal.
Bai Xu: “Call the police! Let them handle this! We will not reconcile!”
He Ju scoffed: “I was thinking the same. Let the forensic experts determine if I’ve touched your daughter!”
As the standoff continued, Bai Shang weakly raised her hand: “I… I did it willingly, and I’ve taken a shower.”
Everyone’s gaze fell on Bai Shang, and Bai Qifeng and Bai Xu, in disbelief, asked in unison: “What did you say?!”
He Ju watched Bai Shang’s performance, outwardly calm but inwardly itching to slap the woman who twisted the truth.
Bai Shang pitifully recounted the events: “Actually, the first time I met He Ju at the old house, I fell for him. I know it’s wrong, but I can’t help my feelings. So today, I had my maid invite He Ju out. In the garden, I confessed my feelings to him. We intended to have a fleeting encounter, but unexpectedly…”
Bai Yao interrupted: “Absurd!!!”
Si Mei clearly didn’t believe it. How could her daughter be inferior to Bai Shang?
He Ju wasn’t blind; why would he choose Bai Shang over Si Hua?
Not to mention, she had seen how attentive He Ju had been to Si Hua recently.
A man about to go on a honeymoon tomorrow causing such a scandal today? And making it public knowledge? Madness!
Si Mei turned to He Ju: “He Ju, tell us what happened.”
He Ju was about to speak when the sound of high heels approached rapidly. Everyone instinctively looked towards the door.
Si Hua rushed in, and upon seeing He Ju, tears silently fell.
He Ju’s heart ached unbearably. Forgetting to explain, he strode towards Si Hua.
