Chapter 112 – If I were scared, who would protect you?

Hearing this familiar speech, Xie Shu thought he had encountered a fellow countryman. Then, he heard the sound of a door opening.

The door that had just been closed was opened again, and the boy who had run out came back.

Xie Shu was just sighing in his heart when he suddenly saw the boy slide on his knees and kneel properly in front of his girlfriend.

Xie Shu: “…”

“Ghost”: “…”

This was really a tattoo artist closing his eyes and showing off.

Afterwards, the few people present watched as the girl held a prop knife to her boyfriend’s neck and began an “interrogation.”

Xie Shu silently held Ruan Nianxi a little tighter.

After this little episode, the group continued to walk forward.

Later, there were some laughable and tearful little accidents.

When they were being chased by a “ghost,” the man ran too fast and entered another room first. His fear made him reflexively close the door, leaving the other three outside speechless. The girl didn’t even have time to get angry before the man screamed and ran out again because he accidentally entered a room with more “ghosts.”

Afterwards, the girl scolded her boyfriend again, telling him not to run alone next time and to learn from Xie Shu, who protected his girlfriend the whole time.

The boy did listen. Later, when they encountered “ghosts” again, he didn’t run first. Instead, he reached out to his girlfriend and pulled her along. After running for a while, he realized he had been holding a “ghost’s” hand the whole time.

Xie Shu, Ruan Nianxi, and the girl in another room heard his miserable screams but were helpless.

The girl finally couldn’t stand it anymore, covered her face, and separated from Xie Shu and Ruan Nianxi, saying she was going to rescue her boyfriend.

Little quarrels between couples are very normal. Although various accidents happened between the two, Xie Shu saw that their interaction was very natural.

Everyone has their imperfections, but so what? This can’t stop two people in love from being together.

After the girl left, Xie Shu and Ruan Nianxi continued forward.

He protected her tightly the whole time, so she wouldn’t feel too scared.

Ruan Nianxi also held Xie Shu’s hand tightly. Whenever there was any movement, she would burrow into Xie Shu’s arms in fear.

After all, she was still a child, of course, she would be scared.

Xie Shu, on the other hand, was quite happy. He could hold his soft and fragrant girlfriend from time to time. He was too happy to be scared.

After walking for a while, they unexpectedly ran into those guys from the team-building group.

Among them were also some timid ones, probably scared out of their wits like the boy before. Some of them clung tightly to the others’ arms and wouldn’t let go.

Seeing tourists, they weren’t afraid of being fed dog food anymore and insisted on teaming up with Xie Shu and Ruan Nianxi, as if having one more person would give them more courage.

So, they continued together.

Along the way, they encountered many things. Whenever everyone was scared out of their wits, only Xie Shu was happily holding his girlfriend. If it weren’t for the wrong atmosphere, he would have laughed out loud.

Sometimes, when everyone else ran, he would also pull Ruan Nianxi along. In urgent situations, he would directly carry her and run, and Ruan Nianxi would obediently curl up in his arms.

The further they went, the more scared everyone became, and they were also stuffed with dog food.

Among the guys, there were one or two braver ones. Later, they reached a room with a “female ghost” sitting inside. Instead of running away, they carried the “female ghost” away. The “female ghost” screamed, “You need to pay extra!”

After a while, they put the “female ghost” down and returned, continuing to move forward.

In a certain corridor, a “ghost” suddenly appeared. Everyone rushed to the big door, anxiously trying to open it. They couldn’t open it the first time, so they tried again, but still couldn’t open it.

Seeing the “ghost” getting closer, the people trying to open the door became more anxious, but the door wouldn’t budge. Some of the timid ones fainted on the spot.

Xie Shu: “???”

Even the “ghost” was confused. Seeing the fainted tourists, he didn’t dare to scare them anymore. He stopped making scary noises, walked to the door, asked the others to step aside, and gently pushed the door open.

The people who had been pulling the door: “…”

Once the door was opened, those who had “fainted” immediately revived and ran out like the wind.

Everyone: “…”

“Ghost”: “…”

When Xie Shu and the others came out of the haunted house, the sun was noticeably lower than when they went in.

The sun was setting, casting a golden glow, creating a beautiful scene.

Xie Shu and Ruan Nianxi each bought a bottle of water nearby. Ruan Nianxi drank several gulps before her throat felt better.

The haunted house was really scary. If Xie Shu hadn’t been with her the whole time, she would have probably collapsed in the first room.

After resting for a while, she looked at Xie Shu, who was leisurely drinking water by the railing and enjoying the distant sunset, and asked him, “Weren’t you scared at all?”

There were so many boys inside, and she saw some of them screaming in fear. How come Xie Shu didn’t seem scared at all?

Hearing this, Xie Shu turned his head, looked at the beautiful face in front of him, and said seriously, “If I were scared, who would protect you?”
