Vol.3 – Chapter 1 – Moonlit night

The moonlight was tender and lingering.

The profound sea was incredibly calm, with an island suspended above it. At the edge of the island sat a man, wearing a bamboo hat and a large cloak, his face half-hidden, revealing a faintly visible stubble.

If Chu Liang were here, he would certainly recognize this man as the Whale Rider Immortal he had met once before.

Beside him, there was a coffin, white with a hint of purple, its luster flowing as if it were made of jade. But upon closer inspection, one could see that the surrounding grass and soil were exuding a faint frosty aura. The material used to make this coffin was clearly ice!

The man looked up at the sky.

He was gazing at the moon.

A crescent moon hung in the sky, casting a faint, graceful shadow, like a peerless beauty dancing.

Somehow, as he watched, the shadow of the beauty seemed to get closer and closer. Her sleeves fluttered in the wind, her clothes billowing, and in the blink of an eye, she seemed to have arrived before him.

It was not an illusion, she was really there.

When the Whale Rider Immortal turned his gaze back, the surrounding sea had already been frozen. The island, including the underwater part, was massive, and any ordinary iceberg would have been shattered by its movement.

But at this moment, it could not move at all.

From a high altitude, one could see that the sea within a radius of tens of miles had all turned into a mirror-like ice surface! In an instant, the vast sea had turned into an ice field!

This method was simply unimaginable.

But the Whale Rider Immortal’s expression did not show any panic, but rather a considerable helplessness, he chuckled bitterly, “Beautiful lady, why are you still pestering me?”

“You are audacious, trespassing into my sect’s Moon Tomb forbidden area and stealing the Ancient Ice Coffin, you are seeking your own death. Today, I am here to take your life.” A cold voice came from afar.

As the voice came, a figure also floated over from the ice surface.

This was a woman with loose long hair, dressed in a dark waist-length dress, her skin white enough to reflect the moonlight. Her red lips were bright, her eyes and eyebrows were charming, but her eyes were full of cold killing intent.

“I said from the beginning that I wanted to trade with you, but you didn’t agree, so I had no choice but to take it myself.” The Whale Rider Immortal still had a playful smile on his face, seemingly completely unaware of the woman’s killing intent, “You say how to compensate, as long as the price is reasonable, we can negotiate, why should we make it unpleasant?”

“You have already offended the dignity of my sect, there is no room for negotiation.” The woman said decisively.

The Taiyin Sect was secluded in the Northern Moon God Palace, and there were only women in the sect. They rarely interacted with the outside world, making them one of the most mysterious of the Nine Heavenly Immortal Gates.

But their strength was unquestionable. Anyone who dared to provoke the Taiyin Sect would soon hear news of their death. Their ruthless and merciless actions were one of the few labels of this sect.

But not long ago, this man actually took the initiative to find the Moon God Palace and made an unreasonable request.

He wanted the Ancient Ice Coffin in the forbidden Moon Tomb.

The so-called Moon Tomb was the burial place of the powerful predecessors of the seventh and eighth realms of the Taiyin Sect. Now this man wanted a coffin from there, which meant he had to remove the remains of the powerful predecessors.

How could the Taiyin Sect make such a trade?

Unexpectedly, the man broke into the Moon Tomb the next night, as if the heavy formations outside did not exist at all. He did have principles, he only took that one ice coffin, he didn’t even glance at the more valuable remains and burial objects.

The Moon God Palace was furious.

They immediately searched for his whereabouts, but found nothing. The woman only managed to catch up with him by using the secret method of the Moon God Palace to trace his tracks.

“Sigh.”

The Whale Rider Immortal sighed.

Before he could say anything else, the woman from the Taiyin Sect had already launched her attack.

With a rumbling sound, a thick fog of ice, like a high wave, swept towards the man on the island.

It turned out that when the woman froze the sea surface just now, she didn’t think about freezing the man as well, but her divine power seemed to malfunction when it reached the island and had no effect.

She increased her strength now, and the true qi that couldn’t erode past gathered into an ice fog. The ice fog surged higher and higher, and in an instant, it stirred up a wave hundreds of feet high!

“You are quite accomplished in the Moon God Palace, you go back and tell your Lonely Moon Sect Master, I will definitely not take this ice coffin for nothing, consider me owing her a favor, I will definitely repay it in the future. But if you continue to be unyielding, I will have to take serious action.” The voice of the Whale Rider Immortal came through the wall of ice fog.

As his voice fell, the rising hundred-foot ice wave suddenly stopped, standing in place, turning into a high ice wall.

The next second, this ice wall suddenly extended, and in an instant, it had trapped the woman inside!

Boom!

On the vast ice surface, the ice wall grew endlessly, instantly building a grand fortress hundreds of feet high, and the woman was trapped in a piece of darkness within it.

This ice technique was originally her divine skill, but it was unexpectedly controlled by the man and used to trap her.

She urged her true qi, trying to regain control of the ice, but found that all the ice in this world seemed to have lost contact with her. The Ice Soul Dao that she mastered suddenly became so unfamiliar!

What’s going on… Has the Dao malfunctioned?

No.

It’s the ice elements that have rebelled!

For her, the ice in the world was like her weapon, but now it had been easily disarmed!

The woman thought for a moment and understood where this situation came from. It was because the man’s affinity for ice elements was much stronger than hers, so he could easily take away her “weapon”.

But how is that possible?

She was a comprehender of the Ice Soul Dao, a seventh realm practitioner specializing in this Dao!

Before she had time to be shocked, she immediately gave up her original ice-controlling divine power and leaped up, smashing the thick ice wall with a powerful palm!

Sure enough, she could easily escape with her physical strength. But when she turned her gaze to take in the surrounding scenery, she suddenly paused.

In the distance, a lofty mountain that seemed to be holding the moon, on it was a silver palace shrouded in mist, appearing both real and illusory.

She was all too familiar with this.

This mountain was the location of the Taiyin Sect’s gate, Yin Hua Mountain. The palace on the mountain was the legendary Moon God Palace.

How did that man manage to transport the entire ice fortress, along with herself, back to the sect gate in the blink of an eye?

Such a method…

Could he be a master of the eighth realm, controlling the heavenly elements?

If so, apart from Sect Leader Yin Gu Yue, no one else in the sect would be his match.

With this thought, the woman raised her head and flew towards the Moon God Palace without hesitation.

The sea surface returned to calm.

The island quietly floated forward, causing ripples wherever it passed.

From within the white coffin came a creaking sound. After a while, the lid was lifted, revealing a delicate little face.

It was the little girl who had been taken away by the Whale Riding Immortal.

This ice coffin was prepared for her.

“Why did you wake up so soon?” The Whale Riding Immortal asked with concern.

“…Noisy.” The little girl opened her mouth and spat out a word with some difficulty.

“Ah, I must have disturbed you just now.” The man smiled, “Why don’t you get up and play for a while? Would you like something to eat?”

“Mm.” The little girl nodded lightly.

With a flip of his hand, the Whale Riding Immortal conjured a live eagle out of thin air. The eagle looked fierce, probably hunting just a moment ago, but now it had become the prey.

The fierce look quickly turned into confusion.

The Whale Riding Immortal handed it to the little girl, saying, “There aren’t many bloody creatures nearby, try something fresh.”

The little girl frowned, her mouth pouting.

“Don’t like it?” The Whale Riding Immortal looked at her expression and asked, “What do you want to eat then?”

The little girl’s mouth moved a few times, and she struggled to spit out two words: “Fruit…”

“Do you mean the berries with blood and dragon breath?” The Whale Riding Immortal said, “Indeed, they taste good, but we’ve already finished them. If you want more, we’ll have to go to Shu Mountain…”

The little girl’s throat moved, she looked up at him expectantly.

“Sigh.”

The Whale Riding Immortal put a hand on her head and rubbed it.

“That won’t do, I haven’t figured out how to solve your disaster yet. We’re just drifting on the sea, and we still need the ice coffin to suppress you. If we go to land, many people will die.”

“Hmph…” The little girl snorted, seemingly unhappy.

Immediately.

The sea around them began to churn.

This sea had experienced too much tonight. Just after a large area of ice had been thawed, thunderous noises echoed from all directions, and the sea seemed to boil!

“Alright, alright, eat something and go back to rest.” The Whale Riding Immortal said softly, “If we delay any longer, we might attract attention.”

The little girl grabbed the somewhat bewildered eagle. The large eagle body seemed so big… yet so small in her hands. She opened her mouth and gently bit, breaking the eagle’s neck.

A fresh taste of blood entered her throat.

This should have been her favorite taste, but she had tasted the incredibly delicious fruit as soon as she was born, so she didn’t like the pure blood with a fishy smell as much.

Suddenly, she missed the person who had given her the fruit.

“Achoo!”

Chu Liang rubbed his nose. Why was he being mentioned so much recently? He didn’t have time to think about it, and immediately looked around.

It was evening at Shu Mountain, and the sunset was splendid.

The members of the three teams had been here for an afternoon. After the picnic, Lin Bei was already organizing games for everyone.

In terms of average strength, the team from Silver Sword Peak was much weaker than the other two. But in terms of social skills, Lin Bei alone could take on both teams.

The three team leaders tacitly let their members participate, watching from the side in case they needed to intervene in any unexpected situations.

Amid the laughter and chatter, the last ray of sunlight disappeared from the horizon.

Night fell.

At this moment, a sudden change occurred on the abandoned altar!

A huge light shadow suddenly appeared above the altar, vaguely resembling a statue of a god. It stood in mid-air, its left hand behind its back, its right hand pointing in a certain direction, its eyes full of sorrow.

This was the appearance of the legendary Shu Mountain God.

The Mountain God has appeared!

Everyone shivered and stopped what they were doing to look at the illusory figure of the Mountain God.

Chu Liang was the first to turn his head, looking in the direction the Mountain God’s right hand was pointing. There was a mountain peak.

Sword Sheath Peak!
