Vol.2 – Chapter 5 – Golden rain

On the Silver Sword Peak, when Liu Xiaoyu saw Chu Liang approaching with a smile, she had a premonition.

“Another blessing?”

“You’ve worked hard.”

Liu Xiaoyu shook her head, feeling that this person was strange.

Chu Liang quickly arrived at the White Tower. The black furry balls were running quite fast. He had just chased after them and killed about a dozen. The rest had scattered and disappeared, and he couldn’t be bothered to search for them.

These little ghost creatures probably wouldn’t produce anything too valuable. He decided to come back and check the quality first.

With the blessing of the Golden Carp, he pressed the “Refine” button.

Boom—

A flash of light, and a small white light floated out.

【Berry Seed】:

After planting, it can produce Golden Patterned Flowers and Golden Patterned Berries. Consuming them can replenish qi and blood, detoxify, and nourish the skin.

“A seed?”

Since he had already hatched a spirit beast egg before, this small seed didn’t surprise Chu Liang too much.

However, he silently said a word to those black furry creatures in his heart.

According to the rules of the martial world, if someone gives you a seed, you should say to them… “May you have a safe and peaceful life.”

Chu Liang didn’t forget this etiquette.

After thinking for a moment, since he had nothing else to do, he decided to go and plant the seed first.

He went out to a small hill and found a flat piece of land. He dug a hole and planted the seed. Although it didn’t require much space, it was still necessary to have some open space. After all, there were still more than a dozen black furry balls in the White Tower. In the future, this place might become a large fruit field.

But he didn’t know how long it would take for the seed to grow, bloom, and bear fruit. So he went straight to the Dan Ding Pavilion and bought a bag of herbal powder.

This herbal powder was a kind of spiritual medicine commonly used on Shu Mountain to catalyze spiritual plants and plan vegetation. It could quickly replenish the spiritual energy needed for plant growth. With this bag of herbal powder, a ten-year-old forest could be grown in a short period of time.

However, this medicine was only effective for some flowers, plants, and ordinary spiritual plants. If it was a rare treasure that had been around for hundreds of years, it required the right time and place to grow. Even if you brought a bucket of herbal powder, you couldn’t successfully stimulate its growth.

But even so, this herbal powder was not cheap. It cost three silver coins for a bag.

After buying the medicine, Chu Liang returned to the place where he had planted the seed earlier. He carefully sprinkled the herbal powder on the soil and watered it.

Then he silently waited.

Liu Xiaoyu found it strange and came over to take a look. She asked, “Chu Liang, what are you doing?”

“I’m waiting for the seed to sprout,” Chu Liang said.

Liu Xiaoyu was quite interested and decided to stay and watch.

The two of them squatted on the empty ground, tilting their heads, staring at the empty soil.

The herbal powder was indeed effective. After just a short while, a small tender sprout emerged from the soil. It was pink and tender, very small.

And it continued to grow at a visible speed, rapidly growing, sprouting, leafing, blooming, and bearing fruit in less than half an hour…

Soon, a large, red and heavy fruit appeared on the thin stem and leaves, weighing down the veins almost to the ground.

“Wow…” Liu Xiaoyu exclaimed, “It actually bloomed and bore fruit.”

“Yeah,” Chu Liang was also quite happy. This could be considered a small branch bearing a large fruit.

He gently picked the Golden Patterned Berry, which was the size of a baby’s fist. The skin was soft, and it was filled with abundant juice. There was a golden pattern on the skin, faintly revealing spirituality.

This was probably a very basic treasure of heaven and earth, slightly more spiritual than ordinary fruits, but less valuable than true spiritual plants.

After picking the fruit, the veins of the leaves drooped, and the other flowers had already bloomed. It seemed that more fruit could be picked.

“Not bad,” Chu Liang muttered to himself.

This could be a sustainable business.

Thinking about it, Chu Liang took a bite. As expected, the juice splashed, and it tasted refreshing and sweet, with an excellent texture.

Regardless of whether the things provided by the White Tower were useful or not, they were definitely delicious.

He ate the fruit with the skin in three or four bites, wiped his hands, and realized that he could plant all of these things. Even if they were just seasonal fruits on the Silver Sword Peak, they were still good.

Thinking about it, he was about to take action when he lowered his head and saw Liu Xiaoyu squatting on the ground, looking up at him with eager eyes.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

Liu Xiaoyu blinked her eyes and said, “I want to eat too.”

“I’ll taste the first fruit for you.” Chu Liang remained calm and said, “If you want to eat, let’s plant more.”

Saying that, he continued to dig holes, refining all the marks left by the dozen or so black furry balls, and planted the seeds in the soil, sprinkling them all with herbal powder.

Then he handed the water bottle to Liu Xiaoyu.

“Do you want to eat the fruit? I’ll give you a task. You’ll be responsible for watering these Golden Patterned Flowers every day. When they bear fruit, you can eat them,” Chu Liang said.

“Yes!” Liu Xiaoyu nodded heavily.

Soon, a large area of Golden Patterned Flowers sprouted and broke through the soil, grew leaves, and bore fruit, forming a small flower field that was bright and dazzling.

“Wow…” Liu Xiaoyu asked, “Can I eat them now?”

“You can,” Chu Liang agreed, then reminded her, “Don’t forget to water them in the future.”

“But what if I forget?” Liu Xiaoyu frowned.

“If you forget, then there won’t be any good fruit to eat,” Chu Liang said solemnly.

After instructing Liu Xiaoyu, he was ready to leave.

Even if the Golden Patterned Berries were delicious, they were just fruits and didn’t provide much benefit to cultivation. He didn’t need to pay too much attention to them.

As he was about to leave, he heard Liu Xiaoyu sigh silently while holding the small water bottle, “If it could rain every day.”

Chu Liang smiled and shook his head.

But before he could return to his room, he suddenly saw a dark cloud forming above his head. In the blink of an eye, it started to rain lightly.

He turned around, looking at Liu Xiaoyu in astonishment.

Dark clouds were rarely seen on Shu Mountain because of the sea of clouds and the abundant spiritual energy. Rain and snow were very rare. Moreover, even if it were normal rainfall, it wouldn’t form clouds one second and rain the next, right? This was simply too fast.

If this was the result of a koi fish making a wish, it was so effective that it could be described as ‘the law follows the spoken word’.

This was simply too outrageous.

As he was surprised, he felt raindrops falling on him.

Suddenly, he felt a slight itch in his body. It wasn’t an uncomfortable itch, but a subtle feeling of spiritual energy seeping into his body.

What was this…

He looked up at the rain in the sky and caught a few drops, only to find that the rainwater was tinged with a hint of gold.

Golden rain?

After the droplets fell into his palm, the hint of gold quickly disappeared, seeping into his skin.

What was going on?

Without knowing the reason, he quickly pulled Liu Xiaoyu under the eaves to avoid the rain.

Soon, an old voice came from Tongtian Peak, spreading throughout Shu Mountain.

“A true dragon resides in Shu Mountain. From now on, there will often be rain transformed from dragon energy. This rain contains dragon breath and nourishes the body. It is beneficial for cultivation and harmless. Disciples of all peaks need not panic.”

It seemed to be the voice of Elder Danding. After hearing this voice, Chu Liang finally understood the origin of this rare rain in Shu Mountain.

He almost thought it was summoned by Liu Xiaoyu.

Since it was a good thing, there was no need to avoid it in the future.

Wait…

Chu Liang looked up at the rain clouds in the sky, a trace of doubt gradually appearing on his face.

Even if it was normal for dragon energy to transform into rain…

But this cloud was only covering the peak of my Silver Sword Peak, raining on my mountain peak, was this really normal?
