Chapter 43 – Guardian Talisman

I hadn’t even finished my cigarette.

From the bedroom, Xue’er called out, “I’m ready!”

I stepped out to see, and my eyes instantly lit up!

Xue’er was wearing a pink chiffon blouse with a Chanel-inspired design and a white mini hip skirt that showcased her charming waistline, paired with thigh-high black stockings that accentuated her long legs.

Not only was the style fashionable, but the color coordination was also impeccable, creating a striking visual impact!

Xue’er, already tall and slender, looked even more stunning in this outfit, flaunting her figure to the fullest!

Moreover, she had put on makeup, her face exquisite, and the scent of her high-end perfume kept stimulating my nerves, igniting an urge to get closer.

I tossed my cigarette butt to the ground, crushing it underfoot, and swallowed hard before asking, “Do you always dress like this?”

Xue’er shook her head, “Only occasionally when I go out with friends.”

I remarked, “You must turn a lot of heads!”

“Not really!”

Feeling a bit embarrassed by my gaze, Xue’er asked, “Is this outfit okay?”

Facing such a sight of Xue’er, I was barely holding on, contemplating whether to change the payment method after this job.

“It’s more than okay!”

I nodded vigorously, “If I had the money, I’d definitely book you!”

Xue’er blushed at my words and asked, “Can I go to sleep now?”

“Wait!”

I eyed Xue’er up and down, stepped forward, and grabbed the stocking on her left leg, giving it a fierce tug!

Rip…

The once pristine stocking was now torn and tattered, revealing glimpses of her fair skin beneath.

“That should do it!”

I said, “One intact stocking and one torn, it’s more appealing this way!”

Xue’er looked down at herself, her embarrassment palpable.

Her shy demeanor was nothing like that of a KTV hostess, but more like an innocent college student.

Zhao Yao looked at me speechlessly and said dryly, “I didn’t realize you were so skilled!”

“Oh, I almost forgot something important!”

I took out the yellow paper and cinnabar I had prepared earlier and drew a talisman.

This one was more advanced.

I bit my fingertip, mixed in a drop of blood, all to ensure a foolproof plan.

After all, this was my first job in the field, and I couldn’t let Zhao Yao and Xue’er look down on me!

After the talisman was drawn and had dried a bit, I handed it to Xue’er, “Stick it there!”

Xue’er took the talisman, looking confused, “Where?”

“Right there!”

I glanced down and instructed, “The Guardian Talisman will protect you, keeping the man in black from harming you!”

“Uh…”

Xue’er was at a loss, unsure whether to stick it or not.

Zhao Yao couldn’t help but ask, “There’s such a talisman?”

I replied, “That’s nothing, there’s much more you don’t know about!”

I turned away and said, “Go ahead and stick it!”

After a few tries, Xue’er’s voice became anxious, “What if… it doesn’t stick well?”

“How can it not stick?” I asked.

Xue’er was too embarrassed to say.

Zhao Yao explained, “There’s hair!”

I reassured, “That’s fine! Hair and skin are the same, both given by our parents!”

“Oh!”

After some rustling, Xue’er announced, “I’m done!”

I turned back and looked down again, “You sure it’s on properly?”

Xue’er, embarrassed by my gaze, nodded lightly.

I said, “Alright, get counting sheep!”

“Hold on!”

Zhao Yao asked, “What if the man in black appears again and escapes?”

“Don’t worry!”

I assured, “That’s exactly why I’m here, to catch him! If he dares to show up in Xue’er’s dreams, I’ll make him materialize immediately!”

Reassured by my words, Xue’er closed her eyes and began counting sheep anew.

Soon, she drifted off to sleep again.

At first, her expression was peaceful.

But after a few minutes, she began to frown and her hands started to flail about!

Zhao Yao watched me anxiously and whispered, “Could it be the man in black?”

“Wait a bit longer!”

I kept my cool and did not act rashly.

In her sleep, Xue’er’s reactions grew more intense, and soon she was drenched in sweat.

“Now’s the time!”

I lifted Xue’er’s skirt and peeked underneath; the Guardian Talisman had turned from yellow to black!

The man in black must have felt the talisman’s wrath!

I supported Xue’er’s back, helping her sit up.

Then, using the Seventy-Two Yin-Yang Hands technique, I slapped her back hard and commanded, “Come out now!”

Slap!

With my palm strike, something eerie happened.

A thick black mist was expelled from Xue’er’s body!

After the strike, Xue’er woke up startled.

The black mist had taken the form of a man in black, who started to run away slowly!

He was clutching his lower half as he ran.

Clearly, the Guardian Talisman had struck a critical blow!

“Stop right there!”

I hurried after him.

Though I shouted fiercely, I didn’t actually chase him!

I had already set a trap for him ahead!

As the man in black reached for the door, a loud “boom” sounded, and he was struck as if by lightning, tumbling to the ground, his body convulsing!

I had laid talismans in advance on the window and door handle, waiting for him to take the bait!

The man in black struggled to his feet, attempting to escape through the window, only to be hit even harder!

After several heavy blows, he finally ran out of strength.

I casually walked over and, using the Seventy-Two Yin-Yang Hands technique, subdued him.

This was not a living person, but a mass of energy!

To be precise, it was Ghost Qi cultivated by a ghost practitioner, and also his soul!

Soon, Zhao Yao and Xue’er gathered around.

I asked Xue’er, “Is this the man from your dreams?”

“It should be!”

Xue’er scrutinized him and said, “It’s hazy in the dream, hard to see clearly, but it must be him.”

I probed further, “Is he the one who booked you at the KTV?”

Xue’er shook her head, “That person wore a mask and hat, very well-concealed!”

While she spoke, she continued to examine the man.

Suddenly, she gasped, pointing at the man in black, “You’re… Jiang Xiaojun?”

The man in black gave a wry smile, “I didn’t expect our campus belle to remember me.”

Curious, I asked, “You know him?”

Xue’er nodded, “From my school, he… pursued me before.”

I understood then.

It seemed Jiang Xiaojun, unable to win Xue’er over in reality, had turned to ghost cultivation and targeted her through dreams!

Jiang Xiaojun looked at Xue’er resentfully, “What’s wrong with me? Why won’t you agree to be my girlfriend?”

Xue’er replied, “I’m sorry, if I don’t like you, I just don’t. I can’t lie to myself!”

Jiang Xiaojun retorted, “I thought you were so pure, but our school’s belle is actually working as a hostess in a KTV! Haha… I was such a fool to be so infatuated with you!”

“Shut up!”

Zhao Yao couldn’t hold back, “What do you know, spouting such nonsense! Xue’er’s father has a debt of seven million, if she doesn’t work at the KTV, will you pay it off for her? And Xue’er only accompanies clients for drinks and songs, it’s not as bad as you think!”

“Ptui!”

Jiang Xiaojun spat, “I just can’t swallow this! You’re a hostess and still act so high and mighty! Wu Xue, you wait, although I failed this time, next time I’ll make sure to have you! I want to hear what our pure belle sounds like when she moans!”

“Next time?”

Hearing this, I laughed, “Do you think you’ll have a next time?”
