Vol.2 – Chapter 4 – Eagles

Without a doubt, this was a nest of an exotic bird. Despite the heavy rain, the nest remained dry, something an ordinary bird could not achieve.

Feng Yaya, having eaten her fill, wiped her mouth and crawled into the nest, hugging the bird eggs as she fell asleep.

It was time for her to hibernate again. The last time she had a proper sleep was when Su He became her apprentice, and then she was stunned by the peacock’s cry in the ghost prison space, sleeping for a day. She was stunned again by the peacock in front of the Three Lives Gate and slept for half a day.

Now, she hadn’t slept for six or seven days in a row.

This time, Feng Yaya woke up feeling exceptionally refreshed.

Su He ate the remaining half of the python and took out a turtle shell from the external space, covered it with the mountain, and began to absorb it.

This was the shell of the turtle demon who wanted to hook up with him. Su He now had three sets, filling the external space. Everything else in the external space was stored in the turtle shells.

With so many things in the external space, using the mountain directly in the external space put a lot of pressure on him, and if he wasn’t careful, he would absorb other things.

Especially when he fell into a deep sleep and used the dream path to absorb.

Su He hadn’t slept for several days either. Since condensing his True Blood, his need for sleep had decreased, or rather, it had become more concentrated.

Now, Su He could sleep like Feng Yaya, sleeping for several days at a time.

In the future, this should extend even further, with long periods of sleep after not sleeping for a long time.

It was said that Divine Beasts and even powerful Exotic Beasts were like this, as were cultivators. When their cultivation level was high, sleep was no longer a necessity, perhaps it was just a biological habit, a preference.

The wild boar lay outside the cave for a long time, confirming that the person and the turtle in the cave were asleep, it quietly got up and wiggled its butt towards the forest.

Those two guys were heartless, making it dig a cave for half a day but not even giving it anything to eat.

The wild boar snorted and foraged all the way, eating bugs, nuts, and mice from the ground, but it never felt full. It had already reached the sea, blinking its eyes, looking at the firelight in the distant cave, and looking at the sea. It took a deep breath and dived in.

Life was unbearable, it was time to move!

Swimming out three or four miles, a sense of danger came over it, and it turned its head to see a huge creature staring at it in the water. It was the tiger whale.

The wild boar’s soul was scared out of its body, and it turned and fled towards the island.

The tiger whale chased after it with a flick of its tail, but then stopped. It had been beaten up before because it wanted to catch this pig. Would it get beaten up again if it caught it now?

It turned and swam towards the sea, but it couldn’t help feeling upset. After thinking about it, it suddenly turned back, took a mouthful of seawater, spat it on the wild boar, and with a slap of its whale tail, it sent the wild boar flying.

Then, it turned and ran. It didn’t start jumping happily on the surface of the sea until it was far away. As it jumped, it made a happy whistling sound, and all the depression of the day was dispelled by this slap.

The wild boar was slapped high into the air and fell into the sea with a splash, feeling dizzy and nauseous.

Struggling to wake up, it didn’t dare to hesitate any longer. Its four hooves paddled quickly, and it swam back to the island panting, ran back to the cave, and collapsed on the ground, panting heavily.

After a long while, it looked at the sleeping person and turtle in the cave, and its sense of security gradually returned. It carefully moved its body into the cave, avoiding the wind and rain, and made a satisfied grunt.

Su He had a dream.

For the first time since he had become a turtle, he had a dream, a very vague dream. There was a small yard with a fence, a grass house, and a statue outside the house.

It was blurry and unclear, the more he tried to see it clearly, the less clear it became.

Meanwhile, far away in the depths of the universe, on a river of flowing light, flying boats were shuttling back and forth. In a common flying boat cabin, Su Huanian slowly opened her eyes.

She shook her head.

She could no longer contact Dragon Turtle through the “blessing” aura. Previously, when Dragon Turtle was in the illusion, it had drawn a picture of her, which served as an anchor point for her thoughts. But now, that anchor point was gone.

Even if she guided Dragon Turtle to dream, her thoughts could not descend.

The means left on Yaya had all failed, otherwise, there would be no need for such trouble.

The sparrowhawk guarding by her side finally didn’t have to hold back and not speak, and immediately started chirping, “How is it? How is my daughter?”

Soul beasts and cultivators communicated through their minds and thoughts. It took advantage of the situation and claimed Yaya as its daughter, which was not unreasonable.

Su Huanian shook her head, “I can only sense vaguely, but she seems to be safe.” She could sense that Yaya was sleeping next to her, and Dragon Turtle was cultivating. If it wasn’t a safe environment, it wouldn’t be like this.

“What about Dragon Turtle? What about Dragon Turtle?” The sparrowhawk was anxiously pacing back and forth on the bird perch. Su Huanian was good at everything except for her cold personality. She never spoke unless asked, which was very annoying. And she refused to share her memories.

Su Huanian was silent for a moment, then said, “He’s doing quite well.”

The sparrowhawk was relieved. It was now very interested in Dragon Turtle and wanted to turn Su Huanian into a turtle as well. It had a lot of ideas and saw great potential in him.

Next time the Hechuan Wasteland opens, it would introduce him to a soul beast!

“Screech!”

Su He was awakened by a hawk’s cry. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw the wild boar retreating into the cave like it had encountered a natural enemy, snorting all the while. Outside, two giant hawks were circling and searching in the sky.

He turned to look at Feng Yaya, who had been asleep for who knows how long. The two bird eggs had already cracked open, and two fluffy little red meatballs were chirping in Feng Yaya’s arms, their heads big and bodies small, their eyes still closed.

Su He put away the mountain and the turtle shell, and with a swipe of his claw, he dragged the wild boar out of the cave. As he passed the cave entrance, a stream of water rose up and sealed the entrance to prevent the smell from escaping and being discovered by the giant hawks above.

Su He didn’t want to fight with the hawks at all.

They were all archers, able to fly in the sky and shoot feathers down. The feathers could split mountains and rocks, and Su He could only passively take the hits.

The divine power transmitted up there, and the power was much smaller. The thunderbird was useful, but the hawk flew flexibly, making it hard to hit.

The two sparrowhawks circled overhead for a long time, and looking up, he could see the bald feathers on their bellies, which must have been scratched by Feng Yaya. Two stupid birds, who did they provoke? They lost their babies, didn’t they? Two little eagles hatched in Feng Yaya’s arms, covered in her scent. Even if they were returned, they would be pecked to death by their own parents.

Exotic Beasts were entirely different from ordinary eagles. Their habits were greatly influenced by their abilities. A strong sense of smell was not always a good thing.

The two eagles landed on the tree canopy, squawking, and suddenly looked towards the cave. The water curtain delayed them, but they could smell the scent of the bird’s nest.

Like mad, the two eagles screeched and swooped down. Su He squinted his eyes and retreated into the turtle shell, only to burst out when the two eagles simultaneously swooped down and grabbed onto the shell.

Crack!

A series of lightning bolts struck down, burying Su He in the thunder and lightning.

Crackle!

The smell of charred birds wafted out. The two eagles fell stiffly to the ground.

The Thunderbird’s attack was quite magical. It felt icy cold when it hit, yet the traces were of being scorched by lightning.

Su He, who had also endured the Thunderbird’s attack, only felt a hint of coolness. During this nap, Turtle Mountain had been operating all along, and this turtle shell showed signs of slight melting.

The defensive power of Turtle Mountain’s external form had increased.

Dragon Turtle’s defense could lead several levels ahead in the Realm.
