Vol.2 – Chapter 20 – Turtle Essence

The locust tree shook its branches, calming its emotions, watching the little Dragon Turtle in the distance absorbing the aura of the Dragon Turtle. The leaves all emitted a joyous sound like that of a bronze bell.

Let it absorb!

Let it absorb to its heart’s content!

The locust tree paced back and forth, and as it walked, its body suddenly exploded, turning into wood chips that scattered on the ground. A large locust tree next to it shook its body and pulled its roots out of the ground.

The branches turned into hands, tightly clenched into fists.

That was close. It was too excited just now and accidentally triggered the seal, almost being suppressed to the point where it couldn’t move for a hundred years.

It was not just one tree, the entire locust forest was it, and yet none of them were.

The Spirit Race was a special existence, considered oddities among the various races in the myriad realms. They had no physical bodies, only like souls – or rather, their bodies were illusory.

Six thousand years ago, it committed a minor offense, and the Dragon Turtle sealed it in an old locust tree. After struggling for six thousand years, it barely managed to refine a trace of the Dragon Turtle’s power, proliferating this locust forest, allowing it to possess every locust tree.

According to its estimation, without any accidents, it would be able to refine all the Dragon Turtle’s power and break the seal in another one hundred and eighty million years.

This was simply a ridiculous joke!

The mighty Dragon Turtle couldn’t even accurately estimate its lifespan. This strong seal made it seem as if it could live that long!

Ordinary Traverse Heavens only had a lifespan of ten thousand years. Even if it reincarnated, it would be enough to seal it for a hundred and eighty generations.

The Dragon Turtle’s power that it had refined over the years was stored in every locust tree. This was the foundation of its resistance against the seal. Without these powers, it would return to the pitiful state of being sealed in an old locust tree.

It raised its roots high, using the Spirit Race’s unique “Divine Vision” to look at Su He. The Divine Vision was also sealed, and what it could use now was less than one percent of its original power.

But it was enough to obtain the information it wanted.

It seemed that this little Dragon Turtle had about fifty percent of the Dragon Turtle’s bloodline, and had great potential for advancement. Taking out twenty percent of the Dragon Turtle’s power that it had accumulated over six thousand years would be enough for the little Dragon Turtle to evolve.

As long as the little Dragon Turtle evolved, it would definitely discover the Dragon Turtle’s large tomb above its head. Inside was the shed skin of a pure-blooded Dragon Turtle, which any turtle walking the path of the Dragon Turtle would not want to miss.

As long as it absorbed the shed skin of the Dragon Turtle in the large tomb – it didn’t need to absorb all of it, even if it only absorbed one or two tenths, the seal here would be weakened by more than half, and it would have countless ways to escape the seal.

Instead of now, where it had to risk half its life just to open a spatial crack and grab a turtle.

The locust tree controlled the fleeing locust forest, moving closer to the Dragon Turtle. These locust trees were all its offspring, and perhaps because they possessed both its and the Dragon Turtle’s power, they were somewhat abnormal.

How could a normal locust tree just uproot and walk away?

It’s not like they were divine trees from the Treasure Plant Realm or ghost trees from the Dark Locust Realm.

Su He slowly opened his eyes, the hunger emanating from his bones slightly reduced. His Bright Mirror was operating at high speed, and he didn’t notice any discomfort.

This Dragon Turtle’s aura was indeed a great supplement for him, but it was a bit lacking.

The group of locust trees came and went. Each leaf was radiating a fearless spirit of self-sacrifice.

Clearly, each one was scared to death, but they were all ready to face death.

A group of deserters couldn’t possibly have such high awareness. Someone was forcing them from behind, and it was the locust tree that had brought them here.

Su He looked around and saw nothing unusual.

The locust trees in the distance were all still, no different from normal locust trees. The only strange thing was this group that was approaching.

Each one, regardless of size, was as timid as a mouse, like a group of devils crossing a minefield. They first extended their roots forward, touching the ground left and right, only daring to take a careful step forward once they were sure there was no danger.

As soon as they touched water, they would immediately scream and retreat, and the surrounding locust trees would scatter. Some even fell to the ground and were cruelly trampled by other locust trees.

It wasn’t until a good while later when nothing happened that they dared to cautiously probe back, confirming that the water was not poisonous, before they dared to take another small step forward.

In this way, they slowly approached Su He step by step.

In the end, they stopped three Zhang away from Su He, reluctantly sticking their roots into the ground as if they were being abused, twisting their treetops, presenting themselves for picking.

After a while, seeing that Su He didn’t move, and there were no terrifying raindrops falling, and no giant waves forming under them, these locust trees shook their leaves, making a rustling sound, as if they were communicating.

Then, suddenly emboldened, a group of locust trees simultaneously waved their branches at Su He, the branches making a cracking sound.

Feng Yaya was on guard on Turtle Mountain. The approaching locust trees had already set off alarm bells for her. Without waiting for the locust trees’ attack to fall, she leaped up and punched the air in front of her.

A loud bang accompanied by a sword-like sound, the air instantly cracked, and cracks spread in all directions.

Then it shattered with a bang, and everything in sight turned into dust.

Except for the area where the Dragon Turtle was, with her as the center, it was as if a meteorite had struck, a crater advancing in all directions.

Within ten miles, not a single locust tree survived. Not to mention the strange wood chips, even the black smoke formed after the wood chips turned into ashes did not exist.

This punch, carrying Su Huanian’s sword intent, could kill gods if gods were met, and slay ghosts if ghosts were encountered.

If it weren’t for the fear that Su He might have encountered some trouble and that making too much noise would affect Big Turtle, she could have expanded her battle results tenfold.

Su He had refined Su Huanian’s sword qi, so he was not surprised by it. The toad on the side was shocked, its big mouth wide open, and its pink tongue rolled out. It hit the ground with a “duang” sound and bounced back up, bouncing back and forth between the ground and its mouth.

This girl is not ordinary.

The toad was calculating. It knew many of its kind. If a soul beast wanted to truly advance, it had to find a compatible cultivator to progress together. Especially those who had the chance to step into the Traverse Heaven realm and could blast open a world.

They were simply human-shaped cheats for soul beasts – of course, the reverse was also true. Humans and soul beasts complemented each other.

Otherwise, it would end up like him, thousands of years old and accomplished nothing.

Feng Yaya looked around. The locust trees by the meteorite crater were shivering, wanting to escape but not daring to.

Far away, the locust tree possessed by the spirit race was trembling. The ghost face hid in the tree trunk, not daring to show itself. Looking at the locust forest that was shattered by a punch, it felt its bark was tingling.

This was an attack from the Traverse Heaven realm, there was no doubt about it!

Although it was in a sealed state, its perception was dull but its knowledge was not eaten away.

That little red dumpling has a senior from the Traverse Heaven realm!

The most feared were these little brats who wielded the power of the Traverse Heaven realm. They were fearless like newborn calves, daring to do anything without any taboos, and they were life-threatening!

I just wanted to catch a turtle, what kind of disaster star did I catch along with it?

The locust tree quietly shortened by three sections, even burying its trunk into the ground, fearing being discovered.

Today, it had transferred its possession two or three times, forcibly broke open the space to drag these guys in, and was almost suppressed by the seal, already injuring its origin. Unless it was absolutely necessary, it could not transfer to other trees anymore.

Su He looked at Feng Yaya, who was full of sword intent and quite like his mother, and whispered, “Yaya, I’m awake.”

“Eh?” The wariness in Feng Yaya’s eyes receded, and she hopped down onto Turtle Mountain with a laugh, but she didn’t take off the finger tiger on her hand.

Su He threw a warm jade over. Although most of the power of that punch just now came from the finger tiger, Feng Yaya had some difficulty controlling the finger tiger, and the consumption was not small.

The little girl’s eyes lit up and she caught it, crunching and munching on it.

She was enjoying it.

The locust tree in the distance trembled and its leaves rustled.

Was that… warm jade?!

If it wasn’t for the fact that it didn’t breathe, it would have made a sound of a broken wind box by now. Whose wild child was this, using warm jade as a snack?

The spirit race was ranked at least in the top 500 in all the heavens and worlds.

But something like warm jade, even the royal family couldn’t supply in large quantities!

It was a cultivation treasure, only produced in a few supreme worlds like the Emperor Sealed World, Mysterious Wasteland, Buddha World, and the Kingdom of Light.

Was this the princess of a great world?

Its leaves shivered.

Fortunately… I just wanted to take advantage of the Dragon Turtle’s breakthrough to break the seal. I didn’t plan to calculate anything…

It extinguished the little thought in its heart.

Even if it was discovered, it should… at most get a beating.

But that’s not right, there’s no protector around this little girl. Which family’s princess would go out without a protector?

It was deeply puzzled.

Was she from the Mysterious Wasteland? Only those warlike barbarians from the Mysterious Wasteland would dare to throw their children out to fend for themselves.

Or was she like him, a little thief who had stolen someone else’s treasure and broke in?

Six thousand years ago, he stole a treasure from the Mysterious Wasteland, ran away randomly, and ended up bumping into this Dragon Turtle tomb. He was seen by the dying Dragon Turtle and sealed here on the spot.

Feng Yaya’s punch turned at least a thousand locust trees into dust.

On the ground, silver gas threads were wandering towards Su He. Halfway there, they gathered together to form a thicker and stronger silver line.

The lines gathered more and more, gradually forming a palm-sized ball, extending limbs and growing a head and tail.

It was a mini version of the Dragon Turtle.

Its body was silver-white, and although it was small, it was extremely sharp.

This Dragon Turtle must be of the gold attribute! Among the five elements, only gold had such a murderous aura.

The little Dragon Turtle crawled towards Su He step by step, bumped into his claw, and melted into Su He’s body. It instantly turned into a cold aura, circulating throughout his body.

Here it comes again!

This time Su He was prepared, he wouldn’t let it force its way in. He immediately mobilized his spiritual power to guide this cold aura into his Mind’s Eye, suppressing it under the shadow of the Dragon Turtle’s path.

This time there was a lot of aura, unlike last time when it was absorbed before he could transport it.

The Mind’s Eye was very magical. Both spiritual power and True Blood took the Mind’s Eye as the core, and the Dragon Turtle’s path shadow in the Mind’s Eye was an existence with a complete Dragon Turtle’s path charm, unbreakable and indestructible. It could be said that as long as the path shadow was there, Su He’s Mind’s Eye was the strongest part.

Once it completely transformed into a Dragon Turtle and the path shadow in the Mind’s Eye disappeared, the Mind’s Eye would not be as strong as it is now. However, by that time, Su He himself would be a pure Dragon Turtle, a Dao Body. What could possibly invade his body without his consent?

The external appearance of Turtle Mountain, was utterly defenseless against such non-aggressive tactics.

He summoned the Mirror of Enlightenment for a careful examination.

A moment later, a line of text rose on the Mirror of Enlightenment: Turtle Essence +48

Turtle Essence… True Essence!

The seventh step of the Transcend Mortality Realm was “Gathering Essence”, which meant to condense the True Essence.

Su He was not unfamiliar with True Essence. Most of the instructors in Leaving South Court were at this realm, and they had shown him True Essence. Moreover, a demon clan elder had specifically demonstrated Demon Essence to six demon cultivators.

Su He just didn’t react for a moment. The True Essence should be more condensed than this aura, like an emulsion.

This Turtle Essence had been diluted or refined.

Su He opened his eyes and looked into the locust tree forest, trying to find the one that had pulled them in.

At first glance, the locust trees were quite peculiar. It was only August, but the locust trees had already borne pods. However, not every tree was full of pods, nor did every tree bear them.

Only one or two locust trees occasionally bore pods, and each tree only had one or two pods. But each pod was as big as a person, and each seed inside was as big as a watermelon.

What caught Su He’s attention even more was that in the distance, two towering locust trees had borne not pods, but two eggs!

The fruits hung on the tree, exactly like the stone eggs on the beach earlier.

Many thanks to “Philanthropist888” and “Boss413” for their generous rewards of over 100,000!

Grateful to the laid-back Boss Maomao for his 5,000 reward. Happy ^_^
