Vol.2 – Chapter 17 – Turtle bead

The Giant Turtle’s blood was about to run dry, its voice becoming increasingly ethereal, as if it was about to completely dissipate.

Unlike the peacock, who had a drop of True Blood refined by someone and possessed a soul consciousness, this Dragon Turtle had nothing. It was just the divine charm and breath left in this world, forcibly collected by the toad, without even a memory.

Naturally, it couldn’t leave anything behind.

“Why were you able to capture my divine power?” Su He asked urgently. He was bothered by this and wouldn’t be satisfied until he figured it out.

The Giant Turtle’s eyes were hazy, its voice hollow, “I don’t know, I just sensed it and was able to capture it, or perhaps it was an ability I had in life…”

After all, it was once a Divine Beast, the Dragon Turtle, so having various abilities was not surprising.

Su He suppressed his doubts, hoping that he could understand this in the future when he received the Dragon Turtle’s inheritance. Otherwise, he would feel uncomfortable every time he used his divine power.

While the Giant Turtle’s spiritual intelligence had not completely dissipated, Su He asked again, “Why do you insist on dying? Can’t you cultivate with this body and become a Divine Beast again?”

Moreover, why be obsessed with being a Divine Beast. In the face of life and death, does it matter whether one is a Divine Beast or not?

As long as one is alive, anything is possible.

The ethereal voice chuckled lightly, “If it weren’t for meeting you, being stimulated by the Dragon Turtle’s power, I wouldn’t even have spiritual intelligence… I would be in chaos all day… only knowing to fight and sleep… I’m not even a living creature, let alone a Divine Beast…”

“If you leave… I will become a puppet-like thing again, only with instinct… I’m not even as good as a beast, just like an insect… The Dragon Turtle shouldn’t be treated like this.”

Even the residual divine charm of the Dragon Turtle shouldn’t be so desecrated.

She chuckled lightly, not taking her imminent dissipation seriously. Her voice became more ethereal and light, but as if she was having a resurgence, she began to speak more coherently, “Little clan brother, the smell of your cultivation is extremely strong. Do you indulge in cultivation every day?”

As she spoke softly, Su He took the opportunity to sniff, but he didn’t smell anything other than the smell of the sea.

“Cultivation is not just about seclusion and breathing exercises, you should also enjoy the wind, flowers, snow, and moon. Admire the plum blossoms in winter, listen to the rain in summer, smell the grass in spring, and taste the fruits in autumn. Divine Beasts shouldn’t be so eager, find a mountain and watch the sunrise and sunset for two or three years, find a lake and watch the fish and shrimp reproduce.

Everything in this world is a path, why force yourself too much? If you only know about cultivation, what’s the difference between you and my confused turtle life for two thousand years?”

“Divine Beasts should be free…”

Her voice became more ethereal.

Su He pondered, tilting his head with a question. This was guidance, wasn’t it? Would this fellow clan member’s memory be restored before she left?

As if knowing what he was thinking, the ethereal voice finally came, “Although I don’t have the memory of the Dragon Turtle, I have lived for two thousand years after all. Even though I was confused, I have seen a lot, it’s just a feeling…”

After barely finishing her words, she couldn’t hold on any longer. Her blood ran dry, and her voice gently shattered.

“Little clan brother, take care…”

The Giant Turtle in front of him turned into flying ash, leaving only a turtle shell floating on the sea. Just as she said, This Turtle was not even a living creature.

“Rest in peace.” Su He murmured. He had encountered two real Divine Beasts, but both were already dead. The longevity of Divine Beasts was not eternal. They needed the ability to protect the path.

With a light touch, the turtle shell shattered, leaving only a grain-sized turtle bead floating.

The Dragon Turtle shell and bead brought by the toad were as big as an apple, but this turtle bead was only the size of a grain of rice.

But the pure Dragon Turtle breath on the turtle bead was suffocating.

For two thousand years, the Giant Turtle hadn’t done nothing. Perhaps it was the divine charm of the Dragon Turtle in its body, it instinctively condensed such a turtle bead.

Just relying on this little turtle bead to inherit the bloodline was naturally not enough. But Su He treasured it like a gem.

This turtle bead had no other bloodline impurities, it was a pure Dragon Turtle bead! He tried to suck it into his external space, but the bead dodged and went into his mouth, seeming somewhat impatient.

Possession?

Su He instinctively thought so, but immediately dismissed the idea. The soul and body of a Divine Beast are one, and cannot be possessed – not only purebred Divine Beasts, but any beast that embarks on the path of a Divine Beast, cannot be possessed.

It’s easy to kill, but possession is impossible.

The turtle bead melted as soon as it entered his mouth, turning into a cool breath that surged into his limbs. Then a severe pain came from every piece of flesh and bone. His whole body’s scales trembled.

Blood seeped out from the gaps in the scales.

A smell of turtle blood.

Su He’s entire body twisted, at this moment it felt as if tens of thousands of silver needles were constantly shuttling through his body, tearing his body to pieces inch by inch.

His consciousness was forcibly pulled into his body,

He could see cracks appearing on his pitch-black bones, and then healing, constantly alternating between damage and repair. The white-armored soldiers in his blood vessels rushed out, but they looked around in confusion, not knowing where to attack.

One by one, cargo ships, loaded with goods, were pressed down to the waterline, struggling to sail.

The Sense Realm mirror flashed rapidly, with data constantly updating on it.

Status: Destructive Progression

True Blood: 92%…93.4%……

Sacrificial Bone: 14%…15.7%……

Internal Organs: 16%…19.6%……

Three numbers kept flashing in a leapfrog manner.

Finally, after an unknown amount of time, it gradually stopped.

Status: Weakness (Extreme)

True Blood: 97.3%

Sacrificial Bone: 41%

Internal Organs: 52%

Su He trembled and spat out a stream of turbid water, slowly opening his eyes. He had unknowingly sunk to the bottom of the sea. The severe pain had disappeared, but his bones were transmitting hunger.

He struggled to open his external space, took out a handful of warm jade and stuffed it into his mouth, barely swallowing it.

Finally, he couldn’t hold on any longer and slowly closed his eyes.

This bead was not honorable, attacking a child like a turtle, where was the proper turtle bead that would enter the mouth on its own, melt on its own, and forcibly push someone to progress?

If Su He had a little preparation time, he wouldn’t do such a thing. To absorb the turtle bead, he should first store energy, and then hold it in his mouth during hibernation for a whole winter, or even longer, to slowly absorb it.

Even if he didn’t wait until hibernation, Su He wouldn’t absorb it now. His True Blood had just broken through 90%, and it was a time of rapid progress. At least he would wait until he encountered a bottleneck again before using the turtle bead to give him a push.

Thinking about it this way, he lost a lot of small goals inside and out.On Monkey Island, the heavy rain had long since stopped. Feng Yaya had already slept and woken up. Big Turtle had not yet returned, and Feng Yaya sat on a tree branch, swinging her legs and gazing into the distance.

Two ugly, grey birds huddled in her arms, pecking incessantly at her arm. Feng Yaya tore strips of meat to feed the little birds.

This was the feeding method taught to her by Green Snake.

Originally, the two fledglings had always been in a bird’s nest in a cave on the small island. The last time Feng Yaya went back, she found that these two little ones had almost been killed by a snake.

If it weren’t for the sake of Green Snake, that snake would have already been turned into dried snake.

As Feng Yaya fed the little birds, she tilted her head in thought. When she was a child, did her mother also feed her this way? Everyone else ate a mixed diet, but she ate meat every day.

Could it be that eating meat was the reason she didn’t grow up?

Feng Yaya wondered, reaching out to pick a green fruit. She crushed it and threw it into the little eagle’s mouth.

The eagle huffed and coughed, spitting out the green fruit. It let out a sharp cry, flapped its wings, and fell out of her arms, landing on a wild boar and a frog that were playing under the tree.
