Chapter 10 – Dragon God Sacrifice

Su He was momentarily dazed and didn’t react.

“If you want to hit Feng Yiju, then go ahead! Why ask me? I’m not his father.”

Yin Yuan stopped rubbing his hands and blinked at Su He: “Isn’t Qingyuan Sect your territory?”

“You are the Dragon Turtle, though quite weak. But out of respect for Luo if not for He, it’s your territory, your people, so of course, I should give you a heads-up if I’m going to strike.”

Su He fell silent for a moment, then said: “Qingyuan Sect just has my friends, my master. But Feng Yiju’s lineage has nothing to do with me. However, what has he done?”

“Just an Eastern Cloud Mountain, it’s not enough to warrant the Sect Leader of Xuantian Sect to take action personally, not worthy! Even a First Seat using heavy artillery to swat a mosquito is overkill. A senior elder taking action is more than sufficient.”

A year ago, Su He felt that Qingyuan was too vast, stretching for thousands of miles, comparable to the size of Asia in his previous life, and Eastern Cloud was even larger, seemingly endless. Now, looking again, Eastern Cloud seemed too small. Such mountain peaks were as common as hairs on an ox in the Xuantian Heavenly Domain.

Yin Yuan chuckled, a cold glint flashing in his eyes: “That grandson colluded with the Fenghuang Palace!”

In the Mysterious Wasteland, it doesn’t matter who wins or loses in the infighting; the ten great Immortal Sects weren’t born as such, they all fought their way up step by step, and in achieving the status of the ten great Immortal Sects, countless Sects were extinguished.

But there is a bottom line, the affairs of the Mysterious Wasteland should be settled within. Colluding with other major worlds, especially the Fenghuang Great World, is a crime deserving death!

If it weren’t for considering Su He’s Tribulation Crossing in Eastern Cloud, and that he had settled his home there, and originated from Qingyuan Sect, Xuantian Sect’s fist would have fallen on Qingyuan long ago.

Feng Yiju has crossed the red line!

His Suppression Prison Ghost, Ascending Mountain Soul, Opening Battle Domain, and Molding the Great Ming King Demon Image, all made people take notice. Although the decision to annihilate was made, respect was given to such a survivor.

But colluding with the Fenghuang Great World, this touched the bottom line of the ten great Immortal Sects.

Su He fell silent again, unclear about the grudges between the Mysterious Wasteland and the Fenghuang Great World. It wasn’t just about people; the very origins of the two worlds were in conflict. Even the clouds of tribulation formed by the two worlds during his Tribulation Crossing had fought each other.

The Mysterious Wasteland and the Fenghuang Great World were roughly like Huaxia and the Eastern Island Nation in his previous life.

He looked at Yin Yuan: “Colluding with the Fenghuang Palace is crossing the line, but isn’t the Suppression Prison space?”

The Suppression Prison devours all living beings to create Warm Jade and Soul Jade, and within the Suppression Prison space, there is even refined Peacock True Blood!

Yin Yuan straightened his expression: “Indeed, the Suppression Prison space is not the line. Eastern Cloud is chaotic, how many people did the Suppression Prison kill?”

Xuantian Sect is one of the ten great Immortal Sects, having waged countless wars, not a charity. Controlling Eastern Cloud could prevent a collision between Xuantian Sect and Yunmeng Marsh, why not do it?

Once two major forces start friction, it’s no longer just about the two forces. The disasters they bring could be many times more severe than the disaster in Eastern Cloud.

“And moreover—” he looked at Su He: “The Suppression Prison space was created by an Ancestor of Qingyuan Sect, not Xuantian. The second-generation Ancestor of Qingyuan is very strong! So strong that even the Hakutaku List does not show his name. But he appeared only briefly before disappearing, and the Suppression Prison space is his legacy, merely controllable by Xuantian Sect.”

A big question mark appeared over Su He’s head.

There were rumors in Qingyuan that an Ancestor was so powerful that even the ten great Immortal Sects could do nothing about him, and even the Orient Loong God of Xuantian Sect praised him highly. Su He had always thought this was Qingyuan Sect’s way of aggrandizing itself.

Could it be true?

What did he leave the Suppression Prison space for? Moreover, the Suppression Prison space was not originally under the control of Qingyuan’s Suppression Prison. Su He learned from chatting with Old Taoist Ge that the Suppression Prison space had appeared in Xuan Yang Palace and also in Tai Bai Temple.

“As for the Suppression Prison space, I don’t know much. If young friend wishes to know, you can ask our Qing Cang Ancestor personally, who is currently in Yunmeng Marsh.”

Su He knew Qing Cang was in Yunmeng Marsh; just yesterday, he had received a Flying Boat Magical Instrument as a meeting gift from Qing Cang.

Now the Dragon Clan was busy with the Dragon God Festival and it wasn’t good to disturb them. This matter could be inquired about later. To be honest, he wasn’t that concerned about Qingyuan Sect’s affairs.

At most, he was curious about such a powerful being. Such a strong person could dominate a world with ease, so how did Qingyuan Sect remain a weak Sect for thousands of years?

It’s like having the world’s richest person in the family, but still living on a monthly salary of three to four thousand. It’s illogical! Where there’s illogic, there’s a trick.

Yin Yuan had already gotten the answer he wanted, so he didn’t say much more, exchanged a few pleasantries with Su He, took two spiritual fruits, and took his leave.

With the crescent moon hanging high, Su He had been in Yunmeng Marsh for a full month. When the stars faded, the golden dragon Meng Xuan sent a message from who knows where: “The Dragon God Festival is about to begin, find a suitable golden lotus! Prepare a congratulatory gift.”

She was afraid that Su He, attending the Dragon God Festival for the first time, would not understand the rules and make a fool of himself.

But these matters had already been discreetly inquired about by Su He, who called out to the toad in his heart. The toad responded and landed on his head.

Moments later, a dragon’s roar sounded from the nine heavens, and dragons of various colors descended with long chants. Divine Beasts of a hundred kinds came from all directions, with tigers roaring and wolves howling in response.

The Dragon God Festival had begun!

“Mu of the Phoenix Clan, on behalf of the Phoenix Clan, extends congratulations to the Dragon Clan’s Dragon God Festival!” With a phoenix cry, Mu flapped her wings and landed on a golden lotus. A lightning-shaped soul beast on her back emitted a brilliance that floated towards the nine heavens.

This was the Phoenix Clan’s congratulatory gift.

“It’s the essence of ten thousand moons!” A Taoist exclaimed in a low voice, envy in his eyes. This is the essence of moonlight gathered from myriad heavens and worlds, tens of thousands of bright moons, to form a true heavenly treasure—one that can traverse myriad worlds to collect moonlight, all are supreme beings!

Even among the Divine Beasts, there were whispers.

“Kylin, on behalf of the Kylin clan, I offer congratulations to the Dragon Clan’s Dragon God Sacrifice!” With a bellow like that of a cow, a Kylin over three zhang in size, stepping on water, landed on a golden lotus, exerting all its strength to utter a complete sentence.

Her soul beast hid behind her ear, daring not to show itself, until the Kylin shook its ear, sending out a burst of azure brilliance.

“The origin of myriad woods…” The buzzing around grew chaotic for a moment. This congratulatory gift was no less impressive than the essence of myriad moons.

After presenting its gift, the Kylin dared not look around, keeping its head down, motionless on its golden lotus, eyes darting around, fearing someone would speak to it.

Su He swam over, a wave lifting him onto a golden lotus three zhang in size, and he chanted, “Dragon Turtle Su He, on behalf of the Dragon Turtle, offers congratulations to the Dragon Clan’s Dragon God Sacrifice!”

The grand Dragon Clan Sacrifice naturally had the participation of the Four Spirits, who were the first to offer congratulations, and among them, they were ordered by age. Su He, being the youngest, was last.

The toad opened its pouch, and a bolt of lightning shot straight into the sky.

The buzzing around grew even more chaotic. Damn it! This was the origin of a thunder tribulation, refined from numerous tribulations.

Were the Four Spirits so extravagantly wealthy?

A turtle and a phoenix glanced at each other, then turned away, not comparing themselves, feeling that the other’s gift was inferior. The Kylin kept its head down, not daring to make eye contact, but its lips moved slightly, clearly feeling that its own gift was superior.

But they were all just showing off, none foolish enough to compete, to bring out a pile of heavenly treasures.

Gifts from the Four Spirits, other Divine Beasts, and various Sect families flew up into the sky.

Above the nine heavens, dragon roars echoed, and an Orient Loong God broke through the clouds, its body’s laws condensing, falling upon the myriad congratulatory gifts. Gifts of different attributes were actually refined, transformed into a Dragon Gate that thunderously descended.

This time, the Dragon God Sacrifice was not presided over by Ji Feixue, but by Qing Cang!

As the Dragon Gate landed, numerous divine dragons roared in unison, swaying their bodies, rushing towards the Dragon Gate, not leaping over it but disappearing into it.

In Yunmeng Marsh, koi carp, under the pressure of many Divine Beasts and cultivators, swam desperately towards the Dragon Gate, leaping up to cross it, only to be smashed down by the waterfall on the base of the Dragon Gate.

Among the Four Spirits, the Dragon Clan had the most members, hence the appearance of the Dragon Gate at every Dragon God Sacrifice. Carps that cross the Dragon Gate could obtain a trace of divine dragon bloodline, embarking on the path of Divine Beasts. Moreover, this trace of divine dragon bloodline did not conflict with the Demon Morphing Fruit; crossing the Dragon Gate and then obtaining the Demon Morphing Fruit would double the blessings, soaring to the heavens.

The little golden dragon of the same era as Bai Ling came about this way.

Fish leaping over the Dragon Gate.

Above the Dragon Gate, myriad rays of rosy light bloomed, falling upon the golden lotuses.

“Here it comes!” Zeng was on a golden lotus beside Su He, excitedly watching the rosy light, then glanced at Su He: “After morphing into a demon, dare you fight with me?”

It issued a challenge, full of fighting spirit.

Slap!

Beside it, a Zeng several times its size, with a flick of its tail, gave it a harsh whip: “Morphing into a demon is rare! Live properly! If you don’t survive two years, I’ll skin you!”

Idiotic! Why compete with Dragon Turtle? Only the Four Spirits could morph into a demon once in ten thousand years. This was not just about comprehending the savagery and struggle of ordinary beasts. It was also a fusion with heaven and earth, each morphing increasing one’s potential.

Such an opportunity was bought with congratulatory gifts!

Among the Four Spirits, only the Dragon Clan openly allowed other Divine Beasts to morph into demons. The clans of Phoenix, Turtle, and Kylin could only morph themselves. People didn’t lack this opportunity, so why compete with Dragon Turtle?

Foolish, right?!

The little Zeng shrank its head, not daring to retort, but still bared its teeth at Su He, clearly still provoking, really wanting to fight after morphing.

Then—above its head, an illusory earthworm began to condense. This meant that its demon morphing would be an earthworm.

Turning his head, Su He saw a wild goose slowly forming above his head. It was a special species among geese, the swan goose, the one that delivers messages.

Zeng shrank its body, no longer mentioning the fight.

At this moment, Su He was coordinating with the toad to draw down Divine Abilities from his inherited sea. He had heard Zeng’s words earlier; demon morphing was based on age?!

Forget years, for Su He, even a month felt terrifyingly long! He had only crossed over for three and a half years, with four more months until his fourth birthday!

With that time, he could master several Divine Abilities!

And based on years… what about his inner world? Would it automatically reveal its world origin, and would the heavenly artifact automatically upgrade? What if it reached its limit and automatically opened the heavens?

He hadn’t decided on his method for opening the heavens!

Su He regretted it, pulling down the inheritance stars, just about to ask if he could opt out. Suddenly, he felt a buzz at the back of his head, as if struck by a heavy hammer, his consciousness dragged out.

When he opened his eyes, he had been thrown out of Yunmeng Marsh by the power of the Dragon Gate. A swan goose crashed into a reed marsh.

Looking around, he was at the edge of a marsh, and observing the stars, he had actually left Yunmeng Marsh, crossed Dongyun Mountain, and entered the Xuantian Heavenly Immortal realm.

On the second day of the second lunar month, winter had passed and spring had not yet arrived, in the time of returning warmth yet lingering cold, a gust of cold wind blew, and the swan goose shivered with cold.

Utterly bewildered. At this time of year, the wild geese should still be further south, not yet time for their northern return!

Moreover, he felt something was amiss. His consciousness left his body, and the small Sixty-Four Trigrams within him—were frolicking!

Just like a Husky left home alone, ready to do as it pleases.

At this rate, it’s feared that in five or six months, the boundary bead would autonomously breach the heavens. By the time he returns two or three years later, it would all be over!

Su He felt somewhat uneasy and flapped his wings to fly westward.

Flapping his wings, he had just taken off when he crashed to the ground, realizing he had no idea how to fly with ordinary wings.

Dragon Turtle had no wings.

From the dry grass by the marsh, a wild wolf stealthily lurked, inching closer to the swan goose.

Heaven sent a meal, a plump bird landed beside it—it couldn’t fly!

In the Cloud Dream Marsh, all beasts were silent, and the observing cultivators also fell into stillness. Fellow disciples immediately took care to protect them.

All Divine Beasts could transform their consciousness into beasts, but not necessarily human cultivators. It depended on luck.

The Dragon Gate was quiet, only the koi kept trying to leap through the Dragon Gate over and over again.

The Divine Dragon that flew into the Dragon Gate and disappeared did not reappear.

A white dragon roamed the sky, descending to transform into a graceful woman walking beside Su He, curiously sizing him up.

Her eyes sparkled with a sharp light, clearly using some kind of pupil technique. The toad squatting on the golden lotus was calculating its recent gains, completely unaware.

Ji Feixue looked at Su He, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes.

When ordinary Divine Beasts transformed, they simply quieted the thoughts in their bodies, separating a strand of consciousness into the beast form, with the main body able to awaken at any time if needed.

Like a person daydreaming while standing, although their mind might be wandering far away, their body still retains a sliver of consciousness to remain standing, to keep walking…

But Su He—all his consciousness had been separated, not a trace left in his main body.

His body now was like a flesh vessel without a soul, merely breathing.

It was the effect of that elixir, which had stripped away all of Su He’s consciousness.

Ji Feixue placed a palm on Su He’s head, a bit of consciousness merging into his body, the Dragon Turtle’s boundary bead throbbing violently.

A surge of the world’s origin rose from nowhere, rushing into the boundary bead, vast as the ocean.

“The Eternal Trigram…” Ji Feixue chuckled lightly, her eyes momentarily lost in thought. It had been a long time since she’d seen the Eternal Trigram…

She glanced inside Su He’s boundary bead, a great mountain surrounded by the Sixty-Four Trigrams. This must be the work of Bai Ling. Something mysterious she began tinkering with ten thousand years ago.

Su He was also of the fate path; anyone else would be incapable of bearing the small Sixty-Four Trigrams. Each trigram was unique, and to bear the Sixty-Four Trigrams exposed to the heavens and earth would be erased in an instant.

Su He was too special; she could never calculate his fate, the divination had no record of him, only he could evade the surveillance of heaven and earth.

Ji Feixue looked at the towering Mount Taiji amidst the chaos, not yet having breached the heavens, but already possessing an innate territory.

“The girl has big ambitions!” She thought to herself with a light chuckle, waving her hand to lay down layers of formations, preventing others from discovering the anomaly in Su He.

At this moment, the Eternal Trigram was revealing too dense a world’s origin. If not intercepted, layers of anomalies would appear, and the Eternal Trigram could no longer be concealed. Su He wouldn’t be able to guard it!

The heavenly artifact for breaching the heavens had already taken shape, driven by the origin. It wouldn’t be long before it might automatically breach the heavens. Did Su He know his own predicament?

Ji Feixue looked towards the Xuantian Heavenly Realm, where a wild wolf was stealthily approaching a swan goose, which was struggling with its own pair of wings, unaware of the impending danger.
