Chapter 20 – I’m cured

After Lin Qiye finished feeding Nyx the medicine, he gradually retreated from his mind and sank into his dream.

This time, he didn’t have the exhausting dream of knocking on the door anymore. Since he had combined with the Deities’ Mental Hospital, he seemed to have completely freed himself from the shackles of that dream and had real dreams.

He had a good dream. He dreamt that he had been admitted to university, had a successful career, and moved into a big house with his aunt and Yang Jin. He dreamt that the three of them could finally go on a trip and see the mountains and waters that they had only seen on TV…

Due to his previous physical disability and the tight financial situation at home, there was no extra money. Lin Qiye had never been out of Cangnan City in the past seventeen years, let alone travel.

Deep down, he still longed for the outside world.

When the alarm clock rang, Lin Qiye reluctantly got up, changed his clothes, and prepared to go to school.

Just as he pushed open the door, he saw his aunt hurriedly changing shoes at the entrance, preparing to go out.

“Aunt, why are you going to work so early?”

“The factory received a batch of new parts and wants us to process them quickly. Aunt is leaving first. You continue to have breakfast with your little brother. Remember not to be late!” Aunt muttered.

“Okay.”

Just as his aunt was about to close the door, Lin Qiye spoke again.

“Aunt.”

“What’s wrong?”

His aunt stopped in her tracks and looked at Lin Qiye with confusion.

“Nothing…” Lin Qiye hesitated for a moment, shook his head, and smiled. “I’ll tell you some good news when you come back.”

His aunt looked at him suspiciously, scolded with a smile, “This child, playing dumb with me. Alright, I’m in a hurry now. Tell me tonight!”

After speaking, she hurriedly closed the door and ran downstairs.

Lin Qiye silently stood at the door, lowered his head, and wondered about something…

Suddenly, he raised his head abruptly, as if he had made a certain decision, and opened the door wearing slippers!

He stood at the corridor and shouted downstairs!

“Aunt! I can see now!”

The next moment, Lin Qiye heard the sound of his aunt’s footsteps suddenly stopping downstairs, and then his aunt’s voice trembled as it came from below the fifth floor.

“You, say it again?!”

“I can see now! I’m cured! Aunt!”

After a brief pause, a more urgent sound of footsteps came from below, and soon, his panting aunt stood in front of Lin Qiye.

Her lips trembled slightly, but the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but curl up…

“You can see? Really?”

“Really.”

“Is it blurry? Are there double images? Does it hurt? Will it still sting when exposed to light?”

“No, none of that, Aunt.” Lin Qiye’s mouth curled up, he reached out and untied the black ribbon on his eyes, and slowly opened his beautiful eyes. “I’m really cured, Aunt.”

His aunt stared at his eyes in a daze, tears uncontrollably pouring out of her eyes!

She smiled, and the wrinkles on her face bloomed like flowers. This was the first time in over ten years that Lin Qiye had seen her smile like this.

His aunt hugged Lin Qiye, and he could clearly feel her body trembling slightly.

“Good, this is great… Our little Qi has finally turned the corner!” His aunt let go of Lin Qiye, wiped her tears, and smiled. “Little Qi, Aunt will buy more food when she comes back tonight. We must celebrate!”

“Thank you, Aunt.”

“Well, Aunt is leaving now. You go to school properly.”

“Okay.”

His aunt quickly walked down the stairs, tears still uncontrollably streaming down her cheeks. She wiped her face and walked with an unprecedented lightness.

Lin Qiye watched his aunt leave, turned around with red eyes, and walked back into the house.

In fact, he originally wanted to wait for his aunt to come back in the evening and formally announce this matter, but then he thought that in movies, people who set up this kind of flag usually didn’t end well…

He didn’t want anything to happen to his aunt, even if it was just an inexplicable superstitious logic. He didn’t want to take that risk.

So, he decisively pulled out this flag, tore it up, and threw it into the Pacific Ocean.

Just as Lin Qiye turned around, he saw Yang Jin holding Little Black Pox standing behind him, their eyes red.

The two brothers looked at each other for two seconds and burst into laughter at the same time.

“Brother, congratulations.”

“Yeah, now you can finally use the sunglasses you gave me.” Lin Qiye stroked Yang Jin’s head and smiled gently.

“Let’s eat, brother. When Aunt comes back tonight, we’ll have a good meal.”

“Great!”

Little Black Pox poked its head out from Yang Jin’s arms and licked Lin Qiye’s hand. “Woof!”

Second High School.

When Lin Qiye walked into the classroom, the whole class suddenly quieted down.

After a moment of confusion, someone tentatively spoke up, “You are… Lin Qiye?”

Lin Qiye, who had taken off the black ribbon, raised his eyebrows and nodded slightly.

After a brief silence, the classroom became noisy again, and the discussion was even more heated than before!

“His eyes are cured?”

“It must be. He can see things now!”

“His eyes are so beautiful!”

“Yeah, yeah, how did we not notice before? He’s actually so handsome…”

The girls’ gazes towards Lin Qiye changed. They gathered together, whispering something, and occasionally glanced at Lin Qiye.

The boys who were closer to Lin Qiye also gathered around him, asking him a bunch of questions about his eyes. When they confirmed that Lin Qiye had indeed recovered, they were all extremely surprised.”I could always see, it’s just that my eyes couldn’t be exposed to light. After going to the hospital yesterday, they got better,” Lin Qiye replied.

His classmates then remembered that Lin Qiye had indeed been absent for a day yesterday, and they suddenly understood.

However, in this noisy classroom, only two people seemed out of place.

Liu Yuan was sitting in a corner, lowering his head and glancing at Lin Qiye from the corner of his eye, his face extremely awkward.

He clearly remembered that day, he was busy running for his life and had bumped into Lin Qiye. After he managed to escape, he thought that Lin Qiye, being blind, would not be able to escape from that monster. Although he felt guilty for a while, he didn’t take it to heart.

What he didn’t expect was that the one who died was Jiang Qian, and Lin Qiye, whom he had least faith in… actually survived!

And his eyes were even healed!

For a moment, Liu Yuan couldn’t articulate his feelings. Was it embarrassment? Guilt? Despair? Or… regret?

Although Lin Qiye had his back to Liu Yuan, he could clearly perceive the other’s dramatic changes in expression through his spiritual sense. His eyes gradually narrowed.

Just then, another person walked up to Lin Qiye.

Li Yifei was standing helplessly next to Lin Qiye’s desk, his expression somewhat awkward. He looked around, then leaned down and whispered in Lin Qiye’s ear:

“Qiye… um… can you come out with me for a bit? I have something to say.”

Lin Qiye hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
