Chapter 108 – The night flickered

Qi Ye was actually able to bring her out?

Lin Qiye stared at Nyx in astonishment. Under the night sky, Nyx seemed like a different person, not the same as the dull patient in the hospital…

Now, she seemed like a true deity.

A look of confusion appeared on Nyx’s stunning face. She walked to the edge of the building, looking at the quiet training camp below and the distant sparkling lights. She spoke slowly, “Is this your kingdom? Dana Dus?”

Lin Qiye shook his head. “This is not a kingdom, this is the real world.”

“The world?” Nyx tilted her head, pointing to the brightly lit city in the distance. “But this… is clearly a kingdom.”

Lin Qiye sighed and decided not to continue arguing about the kingdom with this mentally troubled and ancient-minded deity. Instead, he walked to her side and said, “How does it feel to be out?”

“It’s big and beautiful here, but… it’s not as warm as home.” Nyx thought for a moment, then added, “But since it’s Dana Dus’s kingdom, I like it no matter what.”

Lin Qiye was first stunned for half a second, then realized that Nyx’s “home” was the small mental hospital.

“Unfortunately, I can’t leave this training camp right now, otherwise I could take you around. There are many interesting things in the modern city,” Lin Qiye said regretfully.

“This is your kingdom, why can’t you leave?” Nyx asked.

“Well… it’s the rule.”

“Do you want to go out?”

“Can you take me out?”

“Under this night sky, I can take you anywhere,” Nyx said, pointing to the sky.

“Has your divine power been restored?”

“Not really, but I can still make the ordinary night sky shimmer,” Nyx replied.

Lin Qiye’s gaze fell on the distant city. After hesitating for a moment, he seemed to have made a certain decision and said, “I want to go somewhere, and I’ll be back once I’ve gone.”

“No problem, my child,” Nyx said with a smile, reaching out and grabbing Lin Qiye’s wrist. “Imagine the location of that place in your mind, and I’ll take you there.”

Lin Qiye slowly closed his eyes, and the image of a low old house appeared in his mind.

The next moment, a strong night color spread from their position, and their figures suddenly disappeared!

Inside the training camp, Yuan Gang’s face changed abruptly as he was drinking tea. The tea cup in his hand slipped and fell to the ground, shattering into several pieces!

“The aura of a deity?!” He stood up abruptly from his seat, his eyes widening as he looked towards the rooftop of the dormitory building. “How is this possible… How could the aura of a deity appear here!”

After hesitating for a long time, he picked up a straight knife from the bedside and rushed out like lightning!

Under the quiet night sky, he left a trail of afterimages as he ran, and at the same time, he took out his phone and made a call.

“Hello?”

“Captain, something’s wrong!”

Hearing Yuan Gang’s serious tone, Shao Pingge on the other end of the phone also became serious and asked, “What’s going on?”

“In Cangnan City, there was just a fluctuation of divine power in the training camp.”

“What?” Shao Pingge’s face changed slightly. “Which deity is it?”

“I don’t know, but that aura… seems to be different from any known deity. I guess this should be a deity that we have never observed before.”

“I see. Don’t act rashly. I’ll report to the Supreme Commander and see if we can mobilize a human ceiling!”

“Got it.”

Yuan Gang hung up the phone, and like the wind, he rushed to the bottom of the dormitory building. Then, without any hesitation, he ran up the vertical wall of the dormitory building and arrived at the location where Lin Qiye and Nyx had stood earlier.

He stood on the rooftop of the dormitory building, looked around, and frowned slightly.

“Where did they go…”

“Mom, let me wash the rest of the dishes.”

“No need, go do your homework.”

“It’s okay, Mom. I’ve already finished my homework. You worked the night shift last night and came home so late. You should rest early today.” Yang Jin reached out and took the bowl from his aunt’s hand.

His aunt stood there with empty hands, shaking her head helplessly. “You’re just like your brother, too sensible.”

She paused and looked up at the moon hanging in the dark night, murmuring to herself, “I wonder how that child is doing now…”

“Don’t worry, brother will be fine.”

His aunt sighed and could only nod.

Yang Jin smiled, “Alright, Mom, leave it to me. You go to bed early too.”

“Okay, you should go to bed early too.””Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”

Auntie walked into the room, closing the door behind her with a backhand. In the now quiet living room, only the sound of Yang Jin washing dishes remained, with Little Black Pox obediently lying at his feet, yawning.

On the rooftop of the neighboring building, a shade of night silently descended.

Snap—!!

“Bark bark bark bark—!!!”

A plate slipped from Yang Jin’s hands, crashing heavily onto the floor, emitting a piercing shatter.

A cold light flashed in Yang Jin’s eyes, but it vanished just as quickly. He stomped on Little Black Pox, glaring at it, and the latter immediately shut its mouth.

Yet its eyes were still fixed on the distant building, baring its teeth in a defensive expression.

“Another Western god… Why would he be around it…” Yang Jin muttered to himself, kicking Little Black Pox again. The dog grunted twice and obediently lay back down.

“What’s wrong? What’s wrong?” Auntie hurried out from the room, seeing the broken pieces of the plate scattered all over the floor, she quickly ran to Yang Jin’s side, “Are you okay? Did you get hurt?”

“It’s nothing, Mom, just a slip of the hand.” Yang Jin smiled awkwardly, grabbing a broom and dustpan from the side to start cleaning up the fragments.

“Let me do it, the shards are sharp, don’t hurt yourself!”

“No need, I can handle it.”

“…”

From a distance, Lin Qiye silently watched the scene, a faint smile appearing on his lips.

“This Jin, he’s so clumsy when I’m not home…”

Nyx, standing beside him, showed a hint of confusion in her eyes, pointing at Yang Jin, she asked, “Is he your friend?”

Lin Qiye shook his head, “He’s family.”

“Family?” The confusion in Nyx’s eyes deepened.

“Mhm.”

Lin Qiye watched for a while longer, then let out a long sigh, “Alright, let’s go back.”

“So soon?”

“It’s better not to stay away for too long.”

“Okay, as you say.”

Nyx nodded, once again grabbing Lin Qiye’s wrist. The night flickered, and the two figures disappeared from the spot.

Inside the low house, Yang Jin, who had just finished sweeping up the fragments, looked up in the direction where the two had vanished, falling into deep thought…
