Chapter 50 – Husband

Su He’s alarm bells rang loudly, and he suddenly raised his head to stare directly at Feng Chaofei.

The Fire Phoenix narrowed its eyes, leaving no room for doubt.

The air instantly solidified.

Su He remained motionless, while Feng Chaofei slightly fluttered her wings, squinting at him: “Do you really need me to make a move? Show your true Peacock form!”

Su He did not budge.

Feng Chaofei had chosen her timing well, with the entire Dragon Turtle clan transforming into eggs, unable to save him in time, and even the Green Thunder would likely be unable to rescue him.

Green Thunder had just hatched, and whether he had mastered his bodily strength was still up for debate. Feng Chaofei had long since embarked on the Rosefinch path.

For the sake of a mere second body, if Uncle Lei were to be harmed, Su He couldn’t get over this mental hurdle; the loss would be too great.

Moreover, from the moment Feng Chaofei appeared, Su He could no longer contact the Basalt Realm.

There was no escape, no chance of victory. With Feng Chaofei’s Realm, killing him would take nothing more than a glance!

Such a being, who would slaughter even her own clan to achieve her goals, truly had no limits. Just like the younger generation, she who could kill Yun Li three thousand years ago could kill him now. She didn’t directly kill Dragon Turtle, probably all due to concern over the Dragon Turtle clan’s retaliation.

One must become strong oneself! The same goes for turtles! If any Dragon Turtle elder had cultivated the second Peacock body, would Feng Chaofei even dare to show herself?

She would probably flee as far as possible!

Su He chuckled, let out a long chant, and cast a blood curse on the Phoenix before him. This second body, he would abandon! But if you don’t completely annihilate me today, I will repay you a hundredfold in the future!

Be it Dragon Turtle or Basalt, advance without stopping for a moment!

Su He turned his body and suddenly revealed his true Peacock form, letting out a piercing cry: “Ah-ao!”

“Come on!”

As the Peacock form appeared, a sensation of blood connection emanated from Feng Chaofei. It was not strange for the Divine Beast Peacock to feel connected by blood to the Phoenix clan.

Feng Chaofei looked at Su He, her eyes flowing, wings slightly fluttering, and claws reaching out towards him.

But at that moment, a sigh of resignation sounded: “Could you keep your claws a little further from my husband?”

The voice came out of nowhere, abrupt and unheralded.

Feng Chaofei turned her head sharply, only to see a woman who had appeared on the branch of a phoenix tree at some unknown time.

The woman sat sideways, arms crossed, supporting a pair of proud peaks, so large that she had to lean back slightly to maintain balance. Her bare feet, like snow lotuses, swung gently, the bells on her ankles tinkling.

The woman was seventy percent demonic, thirty percent charming, and ninety percent stunningly beautiful.

Ji Feixue!

“…Husband?!” Feng Chaofei thought she had heard wrong.

Ji Feixue sighed lightly: “I, you see, am petty! I don’t like random women getting close to my husband—not even birds! Can you take your claws away?”

Truly her husband! Feng Chaofei’s feathers exploded; this was explosive news! More shocking than learning that Su He had entered the Zhenxie Dao Palace.

She stood frozen in mid-air, only to see Ji Feixue leap from the phoenix tree, walking through the air towards her.

Feng Chaofei’s gaze sharpened, and with a loud phoenix cry, she took flight, vanishing in an instant.

Madwoman!

She sensed a murderous intent from Ji Feixue! A reckless intent that did not shy away from mutual destruction. The Phoenix broke through the air and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Feng Chaofei’s wings fluttered, crossing several worlds in a breath, but when she turned her head, she saw Ji Feixue still smiling and approaching her.

The traversal of several worlds had not put any distance between them; instead, Ji Feixue was still steadily closing in.

Feng Chaofei stopped, landing on an uninhabited planet, where a phoenix tree sprouted, supporting the Phoenix.

Ji Feixue’s spatial techniques were a few notches more refined than hers. Without defeating Ji Feixue, it seemed she could not leave.

But it was only spatial techniques that were more refined; in a real fight, who would be afraid of whom?

Feng Chaofei stopped, and Ji Feixue continued to approach at an unchanged pace.

With a loud phoenix cry, the Phoenix’s wings flapped, and the flames around her body instantly vanished. Ji Feixue’s eyes smiled, and with a gentle press of her hand forward, she delivered a seemingly light and boneless palm strike.

Beneath them, the stars remained unharmed, but the surrounding void suddenly collapsed, countless meteors turning to dust in an instant.

A clash of forces, and neither gained the upper hand.

“You’re serious,” Feng Chaofei narrowed her eyes: “The esteemed Cloud Dream Marsh Princess would really fight to the death for a male turtle?”

Ridiculous!

At that moment, countless thoughts flashed through Feng Chaofei’s mind, analyzing whether she had offended Ji Feixue somewhere, whether their interests clashed.

After thinking for a long while, she still couldn’t figure it out.

She was the public enemy of the Phoenix clan, hunted and unable to live in peace, always careful not to provoke other formidable enemies. Especially a capricious madwoman like Ji Feixue.

Ji Feixue chuckled: “You, a Phoenix of tens of thousands of years, bully a little turtle of a few years and feel no shame, yet I fight for a little Dragon Turtle, what’s so ridiculous about that?”

The Peacock across from her laughed: “What’s there to be ashamed of in killing? But you, older than me, calling him ‘my husband’ at every turn, who should really be ashamed?”

A dragon in heat, not picky about food? Utterly shameless!

Ji Feixue chuckled, unabashed, looking at Feng Chaofei with a clear voice: “Maybe he was my husband in a past life? The karma of a previous existence, I can’t help it!”

“I don’t believe you for a second!” Feng Chaofei chirped lightly, and arrays fell down, enveloping both her and Ji Feixue. As the dragon and the phoenix spoke, their hands never stopped moving.

“What past lives do you have!” One a Dragon Turtle, the other nearly a divine dragon, yet gave up on themselves. Both Divine Beasts, how could they possibly have past lives?

Ji Feixue pointed lightly, her finger piercing through the array before her, smiling coyly: “Who knows? Maybe there’s no past life, but it feels like recognizing each other for three lifetimes at first sight?”

Madwoman!

Feng Chaofei cursed, her feathers trembling, arrays falling down, trapping Ji Feixue within, but she no longer attacked. Taking advantage of the moment Ji Feixue broke the array, she turned and fled through space.

Rings of arrays, like star rings, surrounded Ji Feixue, but in just a few breaths, they cracked and shattered.

Ji Feixue watched the direction Feng Chaofei fled, chuckled, and with a turn of her body, she was already at Dongyun Mountain. Looking up at Su He, her beautiful eyes twinkled with starlight.

Su He had already returned to his Dragon Turtle true form, nodding in salute: “Thank you, sister, for saving my life!”

“Tsk!” Ji Feixue circled around him a few times, kicking his claw resentfully: “When you need me, you call me wife, and when you’re done, you call me sister. If I’m completely useless, will you then call me an old hag?”

Su He: “…”

I was just bluffing!

The word ‘wife’ is something that must never be said to her face; it could be fatal.

“No conscience!” Ji Feixue huffed, leaning against the tree, looking at Su He with a bit of melancholy: “I heard you’ve taken a concubine outside and even had a daughter?”

Liu Ru was her personal maid, and she would not keep secrets from her.

Su He opened his mouth, unable to speak for a long while, muttering in his heart: Is it possible… that you’re the concubine?

No, that’s wrong, spit! Where did the concubine come from? He had no relationship with Ji Feixue; he was just teased a bit!

“Sister, spare me!” Su He begged for mercy.

Ji Feixue glanced at him, her slender finger pointing at his forehead, then retracted her hand, grazing his dragon horn, and gently scratched: “Fool!”

Su He shuddered, the immature dragon horn too sensitive, his whole body trembling. When he came to his senses, he saw Ji Feixue had already stepped up and disappeared into the clouds.

“If you’re in trouble, remember to call your wife for help, and I’ll come!”

A voice fell from the clouds.

Su He shook his head, speechless.

Unprovokable! It was best to avoid provoking this one as much as possible. She truly saved his life, but the teasing was also real. That aside, Su He feared that any wrong word might lead to his shell being peeled off.

She could do it!

Fengshen Great World.

Green Thunder floated among the clear skies and white clouds, looking at the chaos at the north and south poles of the great world. His expression grew darker.

The Fengshen Great World was once the stronghold of the Teng Snake clan, and also their ancestral land, naturally filled with the indelible aura of Teng Snakes.

Zhu and Huai’s decision to transform into eggs and merge with Teng Snakes here was hasty.

It was probably the merging with Teng Snakes that triggered the turmoil in the Fengshen Great World. Indiscernible auras gathered from all directions in the Fengshen Great World, forming entities resembling Teng Snakes, surging towards the chaos on both sides.

Not for battle, but to merge into the turtle eggs of Zhu and Huai, to become one with them.

But these auras were sinister and sneaky. If they truly merged into the eggs, when Zhu and Huai hatched, their temperaments would likely change drastically. Just like the Teng Snakes, they would become sinister beings!

The Teng Snake clan was special; whether it was their clan’s treasure or the domains of their members, they were all extremely similar, all of the same dark style.

This was not right, just like the Dragon Turtles, whose domains, although naturally awakened at a certain stage of growth, were all different. Su He’s vast sea, his thunder court, Gu Luo’s desert; each Dragon Turtle’s domain was different due to attributes and state of mind.

Only the Teng Snakes had such a high degree of similarity in their domains.

It was probably due to the influence of these auras.

Green Thunder took a deep breath; he could not approach Zhu and Huai’s turtle eggs. Transforming into eggs to merge with Teng Snakes was somewhat similar to the ordinary turtle’s condensation of the Mind’s Eye. His presence would influence the turtle eggs.

Zhu and Huai were not the primeval ancestor; the primeval ancestor was too powerful, and his presence would not affect them.

Green Thunder looked at the twisted Teng Snake auras, exhaling deeply. The transformation had been going on for a long time, and it was unknown how many such auras existed in the chaos.

Let Su He come!

Su He had only opened one layer of heaven, and his Realm was vastly different from Zhu and Huai’s. Approaching the turtle eggs would not affect them. But he could enter the chaos and obliterate these auras.

In an uninhabited star domain, Phoenix flames soared to the sky, instantly incinerating countless attackers.

Feng Chaofei appeared from the flames, her beak curling slightly: “You’ve seen his true Peacock form, are you satisfied now?”

After speaking, her expression and movements changed abruptly, as if she had switched souls, even her voice becoming crisp and pleasant: “Satisfied!”

The Phoenix’s expression and voice changed again, reverting to a raspy tone: “Not only did I see the son, but I also saw the daughter-in-law, the unique Ji Feixue of the myriad worlds, whom even we can’t match. Are you even more satisfied?”

After Feng Chaofei said this, she did not revert to herself. Moments later, she spoke again with a raspy voice, sneering: “Little brat, he marked me with a blood curse! If it weren’t for Ji Feixue’s arrival, today I would have plucked all his Peacock feathers!”

The next chapter might be late.
