After informing Saga and Yekaterina of the specifics regarding the three perilous battle zones,
The Golden Dragonfather looked up, glancing in the direction of the Ginia seabed mountain, where another significant and intense energy fluctuation was emanating, a sensation that Saga could clearly perceive.
Withdrawing his gaze, the Golden Dragonfather addressed the two exceptionally talented young dragons:
“Saga, Yekaterina, it’s up to you now. Decide for yourselves how to most effectively conquer these three dangerous battle zones.”
“I’ll be waiting for your good news in the Ginia battle zone.”
After hearing the Golden Dragonfather’s words, Saga and Yekaterina nodded in unison, earnestly responding, “Rest assured, Father, we will make the abyssal prisoners feel the terror of being dominated by the Dragon Kind.”
“I believe in you.”
As he spoke, accompanied by a distortion of light and shadow, the Golden Dragonfather’s form began to glow with a rich golden luster, gradually becoming ethereal, and as his voice faded, he vanished from Saga and Yekaterina’s sight.
After the Golden Dragonfather’s departure,
Saga and Yekaterina exchanged a glance, then slowly said:
“According to Father, the three perilous battle zones are the Sky Battle Zone, the Deep Sea Forest Battle Zone, and the Sea Ruins Battle Zone.”
“The combined strength of the abyssal prisoners in the Sky Battle Zone and the Deep Sea Forest Battle Zone is similar, with not much difference, while the Sea Ruins Battle Zone is somewhat more dangerous, and apart from the Ginia seabed mountain battle zone, it’s where the fighting is most intense.”
Pausing for a moment, Saga pondered and said, “I think we should first tackle the weaker Sky Battle Zone and Deep Sea Forest Battle Zone. That way, the high-ranking Legendary forces we liberate can join us in assaulting the Sea Ruins Battle Zone. Theoretically, this should be more efficient than starting with the Sea Ruins Battle Zone.”
Feeling that Saga’s words made sense,
Yekaterina lifted her head and said with a chuckle, “Saga, my foolish brother, you’re thinking just like me. It seems you also possess considerable wisdom.”
Saga’s face was lined with exasperation.
After a barely noticeable shake of his head, Saga said to Yekaterina:
“My cunning but foolish sister, I won’t stoop to your level.”
“There’s no time to lose. Father has already set off, and we must follow closely, heading straight for the Sky Battle Zone and the Deep Sea Forest Battle Zone.”
Looking at the Golden Dragon before her and recalling her repeated defeats to Saga, Yekaterina’s competitive spirit flared, and she proposed, “Saga, our previous wrestling matches proved nothing.”
“It’s on the battlefield where our true abilities will be revealed.”
“Oh? What do you mean?”
“Let’s have a competition to see who can slay more abyssal prisoners. Of course, the rank-and-file don’t count; only Legendary-level abyssal prisoners will.”
“Fine, but don’t cry if you lose to me again.”
Saga smiled slightly, brimming with confidence.
The Casserly Abyss prisoners, terrifying and dreadful to normal beings, were now merely a means of competition to these two young dragons, their lives reduced to mere numbers.
“Hmph, I won’t lose. I want you to bow to me in respect and awe from now on, and to perform the dragon claw licking ceremony.”
Yekaterina was equally confident and insistent.
From the very beginning, her purpose for the wager with Saga had remained unchanged.
Saga scratched his chin, running his fingers over his fine dragon scales, and looking at Yekaterina, he slowly said:
“Think about it, how many times have you said in front of me that it’s impossible for you to lose? And yet, what was the outcome?”
“I was just careless and not serious.”
Yekaterina stubbornly retorted.
Saga sized up Yekaterina, looking into her beautiful red-gold dragon eyes, and said deliberately, “You might be careless again this time.”
“When you lose, my request is simple, just like yours.”
Having agreed on the terms of the competition, Saga and Yekaterina set off together, first heading to the Sky Battle Zone.
This pair of Outsider dragon siblings, each unmatched in combat, chose to fight side by side, knowing that their combined efforts would break through the abyssal rifts with an efficiency unmatched by fighting alone.
Meanwhile,
In the Golden Sea, on the western side of a certain airspace,
Under the cover of the Dragon Realm, about five hundred meters above the undulating surface of the Golden Sea, a large abyssal rift resembling a tear in the fabric of space lay quietly, emitting a foul stench from the abyssal mire, surrounded by many powerful and profound abyssal prisoners engaged in battle with dragons from the Deep Sea Dragon City.
The assault on these dangerous large-scale battle zones cannot cease for even a moment.
The dragons can take turns to rest, but they cannot stop their assault; otherwise, as long as the abyssal rifts remain, more prisoners from the abyss will emerge, and the situation will only worsen.
At this very moment,
The most conspicuous on the battlefield were five ancient dragons, each thousands of years old, including four Metal Dragons and one Gemstone Dragon: a pure-blooded Golden Dragon, a Gold-Silver hybrid dragon, a pure-blooded Silver Dragon, a Brass Dragon, and a Crystal Dragon.
Apart from the naturally petite Crystal Dragon, the other four Metal Dragons were all over fifty meters in length from head to tail, each exuding a profound Dragon Might, so powerful that the surrounding air almost solidified.
These were all high-ranking Legendary dragons of at least the seventh tier.
In the outside world, each of them was a ruler in their own right, comparable to beings like the Goddess of Beauty’s Pope and the Sky City Lord.
They were also the main force of the Dragon Kind in this Sky Battle Zone.
Among the numerous abyssal prisoners, the five ancient dragons’ main adversaries were nine high-ranking Legendary prisoners, more numerous than themselves.
The Dragon Kind’s combat prowess was formidable.
Even within the Great Ring Multiverse, they were among the top of their tier, and although these prisoners came from the outer planes and each had their strengths, they struggled to contend one-on-one with dragons of the same tier.
The five ancient dragons, facing two Legendary prisoners each, were also under attack from many other Legendary prisoners.
Despite not being at a disadvantage, they were also unable to effectively slay their counterparts, resulting in a stalemate similar to the Ginia battle zone.
At this time, before Saga and Yekaterina had arrived,
A fierce battle was unfolding between dragons and prisoners.
A multitude of Legendary dragons and Legendary prisoners unleashed their attacks on each other, the flames of war in this battle zone raging fiercely, a sight that would terrify any being below the Legendary tier.
Additionally,
Although the dragons here were all Legendary, there were many prisoners below the Legendary tier who, desperate to escape the dark and despairing cage, charged out of the abyssal rifts like moths to a flame, attacking the Legendary dragons.
For these abyssal prisoners, death was no more terrifying than remaining in the Casserly Abyss.
They were fearless, crazed, and ferocious.
Moreover, countless native creatures from the Casserly Abyss, such as Mire Mosquitoes and malignant flies, swarmed the Sky Battle Zone, too numerous to count, in the billions.
They paid little attention to the prisoners with the strong scent of the abyss, mainly entangling the dragons.
Even in small numbers, they posed a significant threat.
The overwhelming number of these rank-and-file creatures, continuously emerging, was one of the reasons the battle situation was so tense and deadlocked.
The King of Storms!
The female ancient Crystal Dragon, only about twenty meters in length and smaller than some adult Red Dragons, shone with dazzling brilliance as she raised her head and let out a dragon chant, summoning a tremendous gale.
Countless hurricanes wrapped around her, forming a wind dragon hundreds of meters long.
The massive wind dragon swung its dragon wings, striking a hanging boulder.
This boulder was not inanimate.
It was alive, a creature known as a Landscape Spirit,
Sometimes, due to the influence of overly dense magic energy, natural scenery could come to life as an independent entity, known as a Landscape Spirit. Resenting its own animation, a Landscape Spirit harbored a murderous desire towards all living things, a truly malevolent natural life form.
Different Landscape Spirits had different characteristics.
The boulder Landscape Spirit was heavy and hard.
But when struck by the high-ranking ancient Crystal Dragon’s tempestuous dragon wings, countless wind blades like knives swept across its body, carving thousands of gorges on the surface of the boulder Landscape Spirit.
Unable to withstand the cutting of the tempestuous dragon wings, the boulder Landscape Spirit retreated.
The Crystal Dragon pursued the victory.
At the same time, a swarm of Mire Mosquitoes intercepted her path.
“Let the fury of light come with me.”
The Wrath of Light!
Suddenly, centered on the Crystal Dragon’s body, a ring of dazzling and brilliant radiance burst forth with extreme heat, turning the densely approaching Mire Mosquitoes to ash, clearing the area around her.
Boom!
Long, boulder-like arms extended from the Landscape Spirit’s body, stretching infinitely, taking advantage of the Crystal Dragon’s distraction to strike the wind dragon form of the Crystal Dragon squarely.
The Crystal Dragon’s body suddenly shrank, like a nimble fish, weaving through the boulder arms.
Suddenly,
The Crystal Dragon’s expression changed as a cold chill erupted around her, threatening to freeze her solid.
Swift Wind!
The Crystal Dragon’s wings stirred up a breeze, her speed surged, and she dodged just in time.
Turning her head to look elsewhere, she saw a Winter Wight, a symbol of death wrapped in ice and snow, a powerful Legendary undead spellcaster.
It appeared as a humanoid skeleton within thick icy skin, with its terrible “flesh” of ice not hindering its movement. Large, uneven chunks of ice embedded in each finger acted like claws, with only its skull uncovered by ice, a dark flame encircling it like a corona.
The Winter Wight’s upper and lower jaws collided, rubbing together to produce a grating and unpleasant spell chant.
It continued to cast spells, targeting the Crystal Dragon.
The boulder Landscape Spirit simultaneously retracted its arms, then its most powerful body, like a meteorite, fiercely collided with the Crystal Dragon.
“Disgusting undead.”
The Crystal Dragon growled, her gaze fixed on the Winter Wight’s eyes, which suddenly brightened with a brilliant psychic glow. The flame on the Winter Wight’s head faltered, dimming considerably, and the spell it was constructing was interrupted.
The boulder Landscape Spirit’s collision was turned into a breeze by the Crystal Dragon, narrowly avoided.
Mastering wind and light spells, while also studying psychic abilities, the ancient Crystal Dragon faced both the Winter Wight and the boulder Landscape Spirit without falling behind, but she also couldn’t overcome them.
The other high-ranking ancient dragons faced similar situations.
And the one under the most pressure was the Gold-Silver hybrid ancient dragon.
Being a direct hybrid, it possessed the characteristics of both Golden and Silver Dragons, and with its considerable age, it was the strongest individual among the ancient dragons.
For this reason,
It faced the two most troublesome and tenacious abyssal prisoners in the Sky Battle Zone: two Destroyer Insects.
Destroyer Insects are a primitive and dangerously powerful type of Legendary creature, rare and scarce.
Many material planes have been destroyed by these primordial insects.
They are thus named for their destructive nature.
Before the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon were two Destroyer Spiders of similar form but different sizes: a Destroyer Hunter adept at frontal attacks, with a body diameter of about thirty meters and long, spear-like legs extending over a hundred meters, and a smaller Destroyer Weaver, about a third the size of the Destroyer Hunter, skilled in weaving webs and various curses, and enjoying slowly trapping its prey in its web.
The two Destroyer Insects were born from the same egg, cooperating with tacit understanding, more threatening than other abyssal prisoners.
The Gold-Silver hybrid dragon followed the warrior path, strong in melee combat and physically robust.
With a flap of its dragon wings, it moved agilely and swiftly, stirring up a foul wind, racing close to the sea surface, charging towards the distant Destroyer Weaver lying in wait on the sea.
But before it could get close, the Destroyer Hunter intercepted it across the sea.
This massive spider was ferocious and vicious, its metallic-gleaming legs like the sharpest spears, stabbing at the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon from all directions.
The Gold-Silver hybrid dragon, not to be outdone, stood upright.
Its dragon claws struck hard, its dragon fangs tore, its dragon wings flapped, and its dragon tail whipped. Every part of its body became a weapon, forcing the Destroyer Hunter to retreat step by step.
Hoo!
Golden dragon fire ignited on its strong right arm.
Crackling sounds emanated from its left arm as it was covered in layers of frigid ice crystals.
The Gold-Silver hybrid dragon roared, grabbing the spider legs stabbing from both sides with its claws, and at the same time, dragon fire and ice crystals spread along the Destroyer Hunter’s legs towards its body.
Several bold lower-tier Legendary prisoners approached, attacking the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon.
Its wings rose sharply, a storm surged without wind, growing immensely large with ice and fire dancing upon them, sweeping over the intruding lower-tier prisoners, instantly engulfing them.
At that moment,
A malicious glint shone in the eyes of the Destroyer Weaver.
Its limbs traced through the air, inscribing purple runes of weakness, then, as fast as lightning, they branded the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon locked in a frontal clash with the Destroyer Hunter.
The fierce and unparalleled ancient hybrid dragon’s body stalled.
Immediately after, the dragon fire dimmed, and the ice crystals thinned.
A tremendous sense of fatigue emerged from within, and the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon’s strength greatly diminished, its claws trembling violently, unable to suppress the Destroyer Hunter any longer, barely maintaining a balance.
On the other side, the Destroyer Weaver tapped the sea surface with a special rhythm, creating ripples.
Silently, centered on the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon, invisible threads wove into a net.
The formation of this spider web was covert and swift, difficult to detect in advance, and a signature skill of the Destroyer Weaver.
By the time the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon realized what was happening, dense spider silk had already entangled it, ubiquitous and severely restricting it, greatly reducing its mobility.
At the same time,
In sync with the Destroyer Weaver, the Destroyer Hunter’s body shook, and its sharp body hairs, like a downpour, shot towards the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon at close range.
Restricted in movement, it was hard to dodge.
The Gold-Silver hybrid dragon could only endure.
Ting ting tang tang
With the clear sound of metal clashing, sparks flew from the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon’s scales, densely pierced by needle-like spider hairs.
The intense pain caused the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon to frown.
These spider hairs had extreme penetrative power, with many piercing through its dragon scales and into the flesh beneath, bringing with them potent venom.
The Gold-Silver hybrid dragon was physically strong, but it could not completely ignore the intense poison of the Destroyer Insects, one of the most potent toxins.
Paralysis, sluggishness, severe pain, necrosis, and the spells used by the Weaver, a multitude of negative effects struck simultaneously.
Facing the deteriorating state of the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon, the Destroyer Hunter began to press in step by step, its agile and dangerous legs tearing through the sky, fiercely attacking the hybrid dragon, while the Destroyer Weaver was forming a larger and more binding web, coordinating with the Destroyer Hunter, gradually forcing the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon into it.
Although at a disadvantage, due to its strong physique, the Destroyer Hunter and Destroyer Weaver could not do much to the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon in the short term.
But it was under immense pressure.
Only if the other high-ranking ancient dragons freed their hands could they reduce the pressure on it.
However, the other high-ranking ancient dragons were either superior or inferior, but even with an advantage, they could not achieve effective kills.
As for the dragons below the high-ranking tier, facing other abyssal prisoners themselves, they also struggled to provide effective support.
“Hold on a little longer, kill some more ordinary Legendary prisoners, then it’s time to retreat.”
“Damn it, we’ve been unable to break through the defenses of these abyssal prisoners.”
The hybrid dragon thought silently.
In the Sky Battle Zone, similar punitive wars had been replayed many times.
Even if they couldn’t break through the abyssal rifts, to reduce the number of abyssal prisoners, the dragons had to launch attack after attack.
“To break through the abyssal rift in this battle zone, we need a few more high-ranking forces.”
“But other dangerous battle zones can’t do without high-ranking dragons either, lacking support.”
“If only new high-ranking forces could come to our aid.”
With a sigh in his heart, because the attack had been prolonged and they had killed a fair number of prisoners, achieving a modest goal, the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon and the other high-ranking ancient dragons prepared to retreat.
The battle had lasted a long time.
They were exhausted and needed to rest for a while before returning to continue the seemingly endless war.
At the same time,
As if hearing the hybrid dragon’s inner thoughts,
Two fresh Legendary Dragon Mights approached from afar, rapidly closing in.
Sensing the approach of new dragon presences and might, the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon caught a glimpse during the battle with the Destroyer Insects.
“Two dragons newly ascended to Legendary, they won’t change much in the Sky Battle Zone.”
Initially, like the other high-ranking ancient dragons, the Gold-Silver hybrid dragon shook its head slightly, thinking this.
But as the distance closed, the might of the one gold and one red dragon shadow grew more and more majestic, their Dragon Might as profound as a tempest sweeping in, not weaker than the high-ranking Legendary dragons.
“Oh? It seems I was mistaken.”
“Is that the extraordinary Dragon Empress and the Golden Dragon beside her… the champion of the last young dragon competition? The Golden Heart?”
“The Golden Heart who once overpowered the Dragon Empress to win the championship, should now be no weaker than the Dragon Empress.”
“They may not yet match high-ranking dragons, but they are certainly much stronger than mid-tier dragons.”
After sensing the might of this reinforcement, the high-ranking ancient dragons’ spirits were slightly shaken.
At the same time,
Like divine soldiers descending from the heavens, Saga and Yekaterina sped low across the sea, parting the waves, like two unstoppable and invincible swords, piercing into the Sky Battle Zone, heading straight for the heart of the battlefield.
