Chapter 89 – The murderer is Ye Qiu

Guo Danu’s face turned pale. His first reaction was disbelief. “Officers, you must be mistaken. My son is perfectly fine. How could he be dead?”

“We’re not mistaken. The forensic doctor conducted an autopsy. After comparing the facial features and fingerprints, it has been preliminarily confirmed that the deceased is indeed Guo Shaocong. However, we still need you to identify the body for final confirmation.”

Upon hearing the police’s words, Guo Danu trembled all over, muttering, “My son can’t be dead. You must be mistaken. You must be mistaken…”

Bang!

He fainted on the ground.

Half an hour later.

Guo Danu slowly woke up, finding himself in a car with the two police officers sitting beside him.

“Where is this?”

“Nanshan.”

Guo Danu immediately sat up straight and asked, “Where is my son?”

“Just ahead,” one officer said, opening the car door.

Guo Danu got out of the car and saw several uniformed people searching around. Not far away on a hillside, a white cloth covering a body was conspicuous.

“Son!” Guo Danu shouted, rushing towards the hillside desperately.

This was a desolate area with uneven ground. Guo Danu, who was used to a life of comfort, stumbled several times on the rugged path.

A guard tried to stop Guo Danu but stepped aside when the two police officers behind him motioned for him to let him through.

Guo Danu staggered to the white cloth, stood quietly for a moment, then squatted down and slowly reached out his hand.

His hand was trembling violently.

Just as his fingertips were about to touch the cloth, Guo Danu suddenly pulled his hand back, muttering to himself, “No, they must be mistaken. This can’t be Shaocong. It can’t be!”

Rip—

The white cloth was lifted, revealing the face of the deceased.

Instantly, Guo Danu’s tears burst out as he cried out in sorrow, “Shaocong—”

The police officers watched coldly, none of them stepping forward to comfort him. After all, in their line of work, they had seen such scenes too many times.

Twenty minutes later.

Guo Danu stopped crying, then held Guo Shaocong in his arms, gently stroking his deformed face, his lips trembling, his eyes bloodshot.

After a few more minutes.

He gently laid Guo Shaocong back on the ground, carefully tidied his hair, and then covered his face with the white cloth.

Standing up, he walked over to the two police officers who had accompanied him and asked, “Have you found the murderer who killed my son?”

The two officers exchanged glances, and one asked, “Do you think your son was murdered?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” Guo Danu retorted.

“Why do you think so?” the other officer asked.

“My son was young, full of potential, and very healthy. He also had a beautiful girlfriend. How could he possibly commit suicide? So, he must have been murdered.” Guo Danu continued, “How did Shaocong die?”

“We can’t say. It’s part of the investigation…”

“Tell me!” Guo Danu roared, “I’m his father. Don’t I have the right to know how he died?”

The two officers hesitated for a moment before one finally said, “Vice President Guo, I advise you not to know. I’m afraid you won’t be able to handle it.”

“My son is dead. What more can I not handle? Speak!”

The officer had no choice but to say, “According to the forensic autopsy, the deceased, your son Guo Shaocong, died from asphyxiation due to lack of oxygen.”

“Asphyxiation due to lack of oxygen?” Guo Danu frowned. “What does that mean?”

“In simple terms, he was buried alive.”

“What, buried alive?” Guo Danu’s eyes widened, and he suddenly cursed, “Ye Qiu, you bastard! How dare you use such a cruel method to kill my son? I will tear you to pieces. I will avenge Shaocong…”

“Vice President Guo, who is Ye Qiu?”

“Why do you think Ye Qiu is the murderer of Guo Shaocong?”

The two officers asked simultaneously, staring intently at Guo Danu.

“Because Shaocong stole Ye Qiu’s girlfriend, so Ye Qiu wanted to kill him. And a few days ago, Shaocong was almost beaten to death by Ye Qiu…”

As Guo Danu spoke, the officers’ faces grew increasingly serious. With their years of investigative experience, they had a strong intuition that Ye Qiu was the murderer!

Guo Danu continued, “Officers, Ye Qiu is the murderer. Arrest him quickly. Don’t let him escape.”

“Vice President Guo, do you know where Ye Qiu is now?”

“He must be at the hospital. Oh, and you should also arrest Bai Bing, the Director of Surgery. She’s an accomplice.”

At the Lakeside Villa.

Ye Qiu stood outside Lin Jingzhi’s bedroom, shouting, “Sister Lin, are you ready yet? I need to change your dressing and then head to work.”

He had been waiting there for nearly ten minutes.

“Almost ready.”

Creak—

The door opened.

The first thing Ye Qiu saw was a pair of long, straight, and toned legs, without a trace of excess fat, glowing white.

Then, he saw an extremely short denim skirt and a delicate belly button.

Lin Jingzhi’s upper body was clad in a tight white t-shirt, slightly transparent, revealing a hint of red underneath, wrapping around her curvaceous figure.

Her slender waist was like that of a water snake, easily graspable.

Ye Qiu felt a surge of heat coursing through his body.

Lin Jingzhi leaned against the door, rolling her eyes at Ye Qiu with her watery eyes, and said haughtily, “Why are you rushing? Don’t you know it takes a long time for a girl to change clothes?”

“Sister Lin, I’m in a hurry. I have to get back to work.”

“No matter how much of a hurry you’re in, you should let a girl finish dressing, right? Or do you prefer me not wearing any clothes?”

Yes, I do prefer you not wearing any clothes.

Though Ye Qiu thought this, he maintained a serious expression and said, “Sister Lin, let me change your dressing.”

Lin Jingzhi didn’t speak, staring intently at Ye Qiu.

Feeling a bit uncomfortable under her gaze, Ye Qiu asked, “Sister Lin, what are you looking at?”

“I feel like you’ve changed a bit. Did something good happen to you?” Lin Jingzhi asked curiously.

Ye Qiu chuckled, “Ninety-Thousand-Year-Old has entrusted Jiangzhou to me.”

“Oh?” A hint of surprise flashed in Lin Jingzhi’s beautiful eyes. She then beckoned Ye Qiu to come closer with her finger.

As soon as Ye Qiu approached, Lin Jingzhi pulled him into a tight embrace, causing Ye Qiu to feel a pressing sensation on his chest.

“Is it big?” Lin Jingzhi asked seductively.

“Yes,” Ye Qiu replied, blushing. “I can’t hold it with one hand.”

“You rascal, taking advantage of me,” Lin Jingzhi pouted, then ordered, “Help me to the bed.”
