Chapter 48

In an inconspicuous small miscellaneous room in the mall…

Several mobile phone lights lit up inside, and everyone inside held their breath, their faces pale and full of fear.

They were Tang Boss, Master Luo, Manager Li, Sister Li, and others.

In addition to them, there was a very special person, Yan Li.

Yan Li’s face looked particularly ugly at the moment. He looked at the door in front of him, which was covered with his own blood. The blood had congealed and was seeping out of the door, dripping continuously.

The blood on the ground had already gathered into a pool of blood.

“There’s no movement. It seems that the ghost can’t come in for the time being.”

Yan Li breathed a sigh of relief, looking at his hands covered in blood, his face not looking too good.

“Master…Master, should we be okay now?” Tang Boss asked in a panic.

They had originally come to the fifth floor smoothly, ready to leave through the safe passage, but when they arrived on the fifth floor, they found that all the doors had been locked by someone.

They tried to smash the locks and leave.

However, something strange happened beside them when they were smashing the locks.

Someone suddenly fell to the ground behind them… without a head.

At that time, they were too scared to think about smashing the locks and leaving. They ran away in all directions, but fortunately they met Yan Li, who brought them into this miscellaneous room and closed the door, which saved their lives.

But the situation didn’t end there.

Just now, there were sudden and repeated loud bangs on the door outside.

Something seemed to be trying to break through the door of the miscellaneous room and rush in, even breaking the lock.

That strength… was definitely not something a human could have.

The others saw Yan Li’s hands covered in blood, and he smeared the blood on the door, and everything calmed down.

“We can’t maintain this situation for too long, and the ghost outside has already locked onto us. It knows we’re here, and it will continue to attack us… and I can feel that the ghost is waiting for us outside.” Yan Li said.

His situation now was exactly the same as what Yang Jian had encountered before, but he didn’t realize what kind of existence the ghost really was.

“So, what do we do now? Am I going to die?” Manager Li asked fearfully.

Yan Li snorted softly, “If anyone’s going to die, it won’t just be you. What are you afraid of? I’ve already told you before, don’t believe in those swindlers in the world of rivers and lakes. What’s the point of finding a feng shui master to look at feng shui or do rituals? When you really encounter a ghost, you run farther than anyone else.”

After speaking, he glanced at the corner.

Master Luo, who had previously been calm and confident, was now trembling and no longer had the same arrogant demeanor.

“Master Yan, please think of a solution quickly. It’s not a solution to just keep hiding here. As long as we can leave here, the price is negotiable.” Tang Boss said anxiously.

He felt that the longer they stayed here, the more dangerous it would be.

Only by leaving here and leaving the mall would they be safe.

“Don’t make a fuss. Is it a matter of money now?” Yan Li scolded softly, feeling impatient as well.

Because he also didn’t have a good solution. The difficulty of dealing with the ghost in this mall exceeded Yang Jian’s estimation, and his limit was reached shortly after becoming a ghost rider.

Just when they were all at a loss…

Yang Jian calmly followed the elevator and walked upstairs with a flashlight.

“Aren’t you afraid?” Jiang Yan asked, pulling his sleeve and looking around fearfully.

“Of course I am, but does being afraid help?” Yang Jian said nonchalantly. “If you’re afraid, you’re more likely to die when facing a ghost. The fact that you were able to hide in the bathroom for four days without being attacked by the ghost only means you were lucky. But if you want to survive, you need to take action. Sitting around waiting to die is a dead end.”

As he spoke, they arrived at the fifth floor.

It was quiet all the way, with no sound or movement.

Yang Jian shone his flashlight around and found no one around except for a head lying at the entrance of the emergency exit.

The face was pale, the eyes closed, and the neck seemed to have been broken, but no blood had flowed out. If it weren’t for the lack of a body, the head would have looked like it was sleeping peacefully.

“This is the person from Master Luo’s group,” Yang Jian said, his expression changing slightly. “But he was killed by a ghost.”

Jiang Yan looked at the head and covered her mouth, afraid to scream. Yang Jian had warned her not to scream no matter what.

“Where is the control room?” Yang Jian asked.

“It’s over there…” Jiang Yan pointed ahead.

Yang Jian quickly found the control room.

The door was open, and a string of keys was inserted into the lock. The lights were on inside, as if someone had entered.

“Didn’t the power go out? Why are the lights still on?” Jiang Yan asked in surprise.

“It’s not a power outage, someone deliberately turned off the lights in the mall. Generally, a mall wouldn’t have a power outage. If it really did, I wouldn’t have come to the control room,” Yang Jian said, his gaze narrowing.

But when he walked in, he was stunned.

A person was sitting stiffly in front of the control desk, motionless.

This person was wearing…a security guard uniform.

And there were some water stains next to his seat, as if his pants were wet, as if he had just come out of the bathroom.

“It’s a colleague,” Jiang Yan said unconsciously, not having seen the photo in Yang Jian’s phone.

The man turned his head and looked at them when he heard Jiang Yan’s voice.

“Yang Jian, why are you here?” he said.

“Liu Qiang…” Yang Jian’s expression darkened.

There was still a photo of a security guard uniform taken in the bathroom in his phone’s album. Except for Liu Qiang and himself, there was no third person wearing a security guard uniform in the mall.

“That’s great, you know each other,” Jiang Yan said with some joy, because she had found another living person, and finally had a sense of security.

“I’m Jiang Yan, the company’s accountant. Nice to meet you,” she said, wanting to go up and say hello, but was stopped by Yang Jian.Yang Jian showed her the photo. “Take a look at this. It was taken in the restroom earlier.”

Jiang Yan looked at the photo.

In the dimly lit restroom, a person wearing a security uniform seemed to have just walked out, and half of their body was captured in the photo.

Jiang Yan looked at the photo, then at Liu Qiang. Suddenly, her eyes widened in fear. Her hand, which had been reaching out, quickly retracted as if she had been shocked by electricity. She then covered her mouth and quickly hid behind Yang Jian.

“Stand against the wall and don’t move,” Yang Jian said as he pulled her towards the wall.

Jiang Yan immediately leaned against the wall and didn’t dare to move.

This woman was indeed very smart and knew what to do at the right time.

“What’s going on with you guys?” Liu Qiang walked over, feeling puzzled.

Yang Jian looked at him and said, “Nothing. There’s a ghost in the mall, and some people got separated, so we came to the monitoring room to take a look. By the way, what are you doing here?”

He talked to Liu Qiang as usual.

But in his heart, he had already defined Liu Qiang as… a ghost.

Liu Qiang asked, “A ghost? Where’s the ghost? I didn’t see anything. I saw that the mall had a power outage earlier, so I came to check the power lines. I saw that the lights in the monitoring room were still on, so I came in to take a look. You guys came shortly after.”

“Is that so?” Yang Jian looked at him warily and asked, “Have you seen anyone else besides us?”

“No, I haven’t found them,” Liu Qiang shook his head.

“Really? Can you help me check the previous monitoring footage?” Yang Jian asked.

“No problem. I’m good at this,” Liu Qiang said as he sat down and started to check the previous monitoring footage.

Yang Jian walked over and looked down at Liu Qiang’s wet pants. “Did you go to the restroom earlier?”

“No, why are you asking?” Liu Qiang replied.

“It’s nothing. Just asking,” Yang Jian said.
